CT Rankings Update #1
roturn
The January Update for the Continental Division can also be posted now with 3+1 races finished.
Great Ocean Road Classic clearly being one of the top scoring opportunities as first C2HC event of the year and it`s the divisions Millionaire sprinter Haller to top the ranking there doing an impressive start for In-n-Out as their new flag ship. Huge mention for cycleYorkshire as well as they haven`t raced a lot but then did fine in this event to be in the middle of the rankings with only one classic.

Then 2 C2 events. The Classic San Cristobal as CT season opener and here In-n-Out once again as top scoring team and early on already justifiying their top favourite role. They even outscored Xero Racing as race winner.
The other C2 event was the first CT stage race and it was a longer one with the Vuelta a Tachira. Race winner Valls deliver Repsol the highest scoring in total of the month and hence the team ranking lead followed by Telio, who also had a decent Tachira plus consistent scoring in the other events.
Azteca, Phillips, Reddit or Campari are other teams, that had a solid stage race.

Last but not least 5 CT teams decided to join the PCT fun in the Tour Down Under. In total 12 points shared on 2/5 teams only and hence probably not the best decision to participate. In-n-Out as one of the low scoring teams there surely took a gamble with their CT favourite role but low reward spending race days here.

Aeropostal as last team to mention on the top part of the ranking due to consistent scoring while the bottom sees Statoil, Löbau and VMP on bottom 3. Early on though not all have raced a lot and hence the PPRD is more interesting.

Now looking at the PPRD table and as said cycleYorkshire had only 2 race days yet and did spend them very well. Hence they top the rankings but highly unlikely they can keep that 30,5 PPRD up for very much longer.

In-n-Out despite their bad 6rd in the TdU have an impressive 13,4 PPRD while only Repsol had such good consistency and this with 14 spent race days.

At the moment Telia with a small gap as 4th while the fight for the last guaranteed promotion spot is very close early on.

WCC in the middle of the ranking with low amount of races yet while Löbau further down only had 2 rd yet and hence hard to judge while Eddie Stobart really started awful with the maximum amount of 20 rd as only team but still 21st in the total and 23rd in the projected rankings. Only Statoil loweres their amount of PPRD scoring.

Individually the Tachira winner Valls is topping the ranking and first rider to go over 100 points. Haller following ahead of a small surprise in Mannion. Right now it`s the stage racer and sprinter with Roux and Gilbert only following in late top10 as best puncheurs or roleurs.
Tennant as 10th a small surprise seeing the points being scored on the flat classic as it wasn`t a time trial month.

Awesome to start my MG time leading the rankings in the first month! Obviously Valls winning Tachira is the big reason, but without Gilbert points we wouldn't be there.

Not surprising to see us so high in PpRd, only with Yorkshire (only 2 RD), and In-n-Out (with a different calendar this month) higher than us.

In February i have Trentino to score big enough to keep on the lead, although with Eastman being here for sure it will be much more harder to win, as the race is perfect for the Azteca rider

Thanks for the update roturn, much appreciated.

January was a solid month for Reddit. We're not very active in February and March, so we'll drop a bit, but I hope we can make that up later in the season.

Thanks for giving us clarity Roturn.

Thanks for the update. Always cool to see how many points were scored in each race by the teams Smile

Repsol of course benefits heavily from the long stage race for Valls while Telia came through their depth to #2.

Most promotion contenders already in the upper half while WCC is still waiting for the season to really start.

But then again, it's only January and the ranking will change so much in the next months that this has limited value.

Thanks for the update, Azteca is very much off to a great start, with essentially only 2 races that suit our style, both being C2, and neither getting a full squad. Next month that changes as Trentino and Gisborne get undivided attention from our team (while we only send a small 6 man squad to Geraardsbergen).

WE'RE GONNA WIN THE LEAGUE!!! (clap, clap, clap) WE'RE GONNA WIN THE LEAGUE!!!

In all seriousness, the ranking shows that we performed really well in our 'only' race so far, but in Barcelona we really only scored about 1 or 2 pts, which really lowers our PPrd to a more realistic tally of around 15/16. Still that would be amazing to keep up, but we are expecting to be dragged down to earth soon in the months to come. Amazing progress in the divisions so far though, it has to be said!

It was a good first month. Tachira delivered some points, Rujano's win contributed massively, and Rinner did good in GOC. Ranking isn't very high but 17th is there in the predicted area (maybe even a little better). But this is just the begining so nobody get ahead of yourselves

Great job by Repsol-Honda, a debutant team and absolutely nailing the season so far, and of course In-n-Out seem to be confirming a big status and striking fear as they didn't even do Tachira

jandal7
5th is above where we think we'll be, in track for our goal, but below where we wanted to be this month Pfft Good placement but Bennett getting some Tachira points would have us looking much better. Still In-n-Out and Azteca looking very good and Repsol with an amazing month, chapeau! Telia also nice to see top 5, hope they can stay up there. Thanks for the update roturn Smile

Though not the best month for us, we take solace in our opening result in February.

Yorkshire, In-n-Out (shocker) and Repsol all looking very good on a pprd basis. Special mention to Telia as well, their riders have been the surprise package thus far, some really nice results at Tachira and with Haavardsholm at Clasico San Cristobal. Xero as well has begun the season positively.

This coming month is a big one, with 3 C2HC events. Could see some big moves made. Thanks to roturn for the update!

Very happy with our performance this month. Crazy that we are still so high placed with such an awful showing at the TDU.

Not the best of starts but with Táchira being such a big part of the month and not really suiting us it's not unexpected.

February has already started better, so hopefully we will climb the rankings a bit by the next update.
