It's time for already *cough* the second edition of the Tour of Scotland. Last year's inaugural edition had a surprising winner, as Nabil Baz came out as winner after 6 stages. This year he won't be here to defend his title, so we'll definitely have a new winner this year.
For those with a sharp eye: there's indeed one stage less this year. However, the format is still very comparable with last year. In the end, the final stage to Bealach Na Ba should bring the decision, while stage 2 could also shake up things. Stage 1 and 3 should be a sprint, while the lumpy finish of stage 4 might be very interesting.

So glad that I didn't return here to defend the title - that start list is very strong

Kraspnoperov!
Otherwise Anton looks good if it didn't end in a mountain stage, otherwise Ponoshnikov and Tvetcov look good, but I'll pick Kung to win.
As for us, we have our loanout Kasperkiewicz, no very top mountains/hills leader means perhaps some attacks? Not sure though, hope he can help Guillen to some wins on the flat stages.
Thanks for the preview Selwink!

Wild Ricki Nelson amongst a surprisingly packed sprint field. He's gotta produce a performance here. Alongside him is Ivanov for the GC, could be an interesting rider as he's shown elsewhere this year. Plus Robov is always capable of surprising.
Overall it's a GC/Stage hunting team, which leaves Ricki on his own. But seeing as our lead-out seems to do more harm than good i think he's got a great chance here.

Southland and Scotland are nearly the same, hoping Martinez can get a similar GC result.
Sprints-wise, I hope Martinelli won't disappoint like Drapac did in the last races.

Been quite a long break for the WCC, great to be back racing again. With the race route covering some of team manager Scorchio's boyhood trainig roads, a nostalgic return is envisaged! One of our stronger line-ups this season is fielded given this return to home roads, with places for development riders limited. Hoping for a good showing with potential on pretty much every stage to be in or around the fight for podium placings. Hoping for a top 5 overall may be a stretch, but fingers crossed .

We've got a strong leader and 1 key lieutenant for the GC and Sprints but the other half of my squad is all young riders gaining XP so it will be hard to control things for us if we have to.

Anton to finally go the fully Monty - it's been long enough. Not here and maybe could've done well with a Clarke-Salinas or Hirschlein combo, but ah well a band's a band.

I'll take 3rd, as it puts more points on the board. Shame the break couldn't be caught, but that was a very strong ride!

well Juodvalkis doing what he usually does, and Mezgec gets outsprinted by Timmer as usual...we could've taken more gaps, cause Anton was very well placed - now Juodvalkis has to loose some time at another point...
but I love Timmer, bet he'll be Antons last man standing on every stage

Eh, short stage and break win, what a surprise. PCM 15 never fails to be predictable.

Got pretty lucky with the lenient jury stage 1 meaning all 8 WCC riders still in contention even if some deficiencies in the wind/echelons have been highlighted. Aussie Jones needs a kick up the backside from the DS on-site as this stage, and even the conditions should have stood him in good stead compared to a number of his 2nd-tier sprint rivals - instead he mossies around the back of the bunch and gets caught out.
Nice win from the break, and a neat report from Sewink - thanks!
