Season Goals
***Team Standings*** | Top 10 | | Giro d'Italia / Vuelta a Espana | Win | | Tour du Suisse | Win | | Tour of Colombia | Win | | GP Liechtenstein | Win | |
Decided that in our first PT season we may take it bit easier than we would usually. Nothing too big to complete, 100/100 should be possible.
Anyway it took us 7 days to decide goals as we weren't sure what leader we were going go for, but with that chosen at the end the goals represent that. So I think our plan is quite simple really. Not much to say.
The plan is to get that specific leader, and achieve about 40/50 points which would be awesome for promoting team which I would call great success. That means Top 10 and achieving one win with another close miss which is definitely possible so I actually think our goals aren't bad as they look on first sight
Anyway big plans are definitely in air, after our last ''decent'' transfer window we are going step it up this year

Been a bit long since last update, and we had little to cheer for most parts of the season (and I will get to that at later date) so let's start with a clear positive, and that's a nice crop of talents that the team acquired finally maxing out, it's been a long journey so it'll be nice to see long term plans coming together.
So let's start with 3 big talents we let go from our team over last seasons, Lachlan Morton 2 years ago, probably a long term mistake but that move allowed us to acquire Froome who even though was average in PCT and way below par in PT allowed us to dominate the PCT and at the end very few teams will ever win a division.
Next was Boswell, similarly acquired in 1st season and sold 2 years ago now, maxing out at 80 hill it was a right decision as it allowed us to acquire Vantomme who had quite brilliant one season with us.
Lastly, Nick Van der Lijke, now he was most difficult of all to let him also being weakest, only SN will know the struggle but at the end we reached the deal of Thomas de Gendt, Romain Feillu and 2,100,000, and to be honest this deal will be seen as big fail until a day Cicero sprints to a win...I know impossible..but one can dream.
So onto the talents actually in our team!
Kenneth Vanbilsen (25) | FL | MO | HI | TT | STA | RES | REC | CB | SP | ACC | FIG | DH | PRL | 2015 | 76 | 50 | 69 | 63 | 78 | 73 | 74 | 78 | 70 | 71 | 72 | 61 | 63 | 2016 | 78 | 50 | 69 | 63 | 80 | 74 | 75 | 80 | 72 | 71 | 72 | 61 | 63 |
Vanbilsen was a long term plan to replace our main star Baugnies, our patience with Baugnies has run out and he already got to lead us in PT classics where hopefully that experience will help him next season. He is not best pure cobbler but he has all assets to become one, as such as we from start see him as a rider that we will invest more after his normal developments ends.
His training is not fully decided, we may chose to go with classics where he'll gain 70 in hill which just makes it look so much nicer, but loose slightly in his stamina and sprint.
Marko Kump (27) | FL | MO | HI | TT | STA | RES | REC | CB | SP | ACC | FIG | DH | PRL | 2015 | 72 | 66 | 75 | 63 | 74 | 72 | 78 | 72 | 77 | 78 | 70 | 73 | 67 | 2016 | 74 | 66 | 76 | 63 | 76 | 73 | 80 | 73 | 79 | 80 | 70 | 73 | 67 |
Kump was an addition we didn't expect, and also a big one why I feel we under performed. My idea all long was to offload Baugnies for pure money and save a lot of wage, well...Baugnies 300k was gone and replace by Kump's 300k.. . We will see long term if this was a good choice or not. His 2015 season will be remembered by preety much nothing
As for his stats development, we aren't sure between sprinter and hill training, what is above is a sprinter and it looks good. As for the future of his, I think it's likely he will be on the transfer list this season..
Mohamed Aziz (29) | FL | MO | HI | TT | STA | RES | REC | CB | SP | ACC | FIG | DH | PRL | 2015 | 71 | 67 | 79 | 62 | 76 | 72 | 70 | 62 | 67 | 70 | 57 | 57 | 66 | 2016 | 72 | 68 | 81 | 62 | 78 | 73 | 71 | 62 | 67 | 71 | 58 | 57 | 66 |
If Kump was unexpected, Aziz did one better. However I really like him, especially as now with stats increase and with the season he had plus already small wage he will be a nice rider to have. He's likely going leave the team though. (why did you have to relegate Sauber )
Wouter Wippert (25) | FL | MO | HI | TT | STA | RES | REC | CB | SP | ACC | FIG | DH | PRL | 2015 | 68 | 56 | 66 | 59 | 73 | 69 | 78 | 60 | 76 | 80 | 58 | 67 | 67 | 2016 | 70 | 56 | 67 | 59 | 75 | 70 | 80 | 61 | 78 | 82 | 58 | 67 | 67 |
I love this guy way more than I probably should, there is probably a ton of rider like him in MG now..anyway I think we signed him as a stagiare in our 1st season, then released him next season, and in same season contracted him on a full contract..fun times.
I love his stats combo, I just wish his flat was tad higher but it shouldn't matter in most sprints, otherwise his hill is just perfect, great secondary stats for a leadout and 82 acceleration should hopefully mean whoever is our lead sprinter is in a good position to finish it off.
Marc Goos (25) | FL | MO | HI | TT | STA | RES | REC | CB | SP | ACC | FIG | DH | PRL | 2015 | 70 | 75 | 73 | 74 | 76 | 73 | 74 | 56 | 67 | 72 | 70 | 68 | 74 | 2016 | 71 | 77 | 74 | 76 | 78 | 75 | 76 | 56 | 67 | 73 | 70 | 68 | 76 |
Another talent since season one, he didn't score much points as expected in PT but was extraordinary helper to Madrazo at Giro particularly so he is one of riders I'm most happy with.
His stats are tough to judge, perfect for PCT, not quite for PT, and he'd be an expensive domestique to have, however with his already good backup stats, a further training in his mountain could prove to be a wise move, we'll have to see how that looks. He's definitely going to be on the market though.
Pieter Serry (27) | FL | MO | HI | TT | STA | RES | REC | CB | SP | ACC | FIG | DH | PRL | 2015 | 68 | 73 | 76 | 63 | 70 | 69 | 67 | 67 | 62 | 67 | 75 | 66 | 64 | 2016 | 68 | 75 | 78 | 63 | 71 | 70 | 69 | 67 | 62 | 69 | 77 | 66 | 64 |
Love Serry, great combo of mountain and hills should make him useful in sooo many races, his high fighter hopefully makes him attackive as he seems ideal rider to win some nice KoMs throughout his career.
Tom van Asbroeck (25) | FL | MO | HI | TT | STA | RES | REC | CB | SP | ACC | FIG | DH | PRL | 2015 | 73 | 53 | 70 | 66 | 73 | 71 | 77 | 73 | 78 | 76 | 74 | 68 | 68 | 2016 | 75 | 53 | 71 | 66 | 75 | 72 | 79 | 74 | 80 | 78 | 74 | 68 | 68 |
Tom is a pretty versatile for a sprinter which is his biggest strength, he's not best pure sprinter but his cobble and hill stats make him much more than most sprinters. I don't know what to do with him yet, he has a lot of uses however, I will have to see later, but he will be another rider that will feature on the transfer list at the start.
Enrico Barbin (25) | FL | MO | HI | TT | STA | RES | REC | CB | SP | ACC | FIG | DH | PRL | 2015 | 68 | 67 | 76 | 63 | 73 | 72 | 69 | 57 | 70 | 73 | 63 | 66 | 63 | 2016 | 69 | 68 | 78 | 63 | 75 | 73 | 70 | 57 | 71 | 75 | 65 | 67 | 63 |
<3 <3 <3
He is the only rider this season I'm fully happy exceeding expecations. Stage win at Paris Nice and Top 10, as well as another stage win in Deutschland Tour.
This also made me question whether to max him, but it's likely I will He is a number of 78 hilly riders that I will max out which means few of them will be let go, so we'll have to see which of these go and which end up staying.
Zico Waeytens (24) | FL | MO | HI | TT | STA | RES | REC | CB | SP | ACC | FIG | DH | PRL | 2015 | 70 | 69 | 76 | 64 | 71 | 69 | 66 | 67 | 66 | 71 | 74 | 75 | 65 | 2016 | 70 | 71 | 78 | 64 | 72 | 70 | 68 | 67 | 66 | 73 | 76 | 75 | 65 |
Zico is very similar to Barbin, however where Barbin had 63 fighter this season, Zico had 74. So much for that...Zico didn't do anything this season, but being Belgian helps, we'll see if he stays or goes closer to the season, but as Barbin and many other, he will be put on transfer list.
Pavel Potocki (22) | FL | MO | HI | TT | STA | RES | REC | CB | SP | ACC | FIG | DH | PRL | 2015 | 66 | 72 | 69 | 66 | 70 | 68 | 71 | 54 | 62 | 63 | 65 | 68 | 66 | 2016 | 67 | 75 | 71 | 68 | 72 | 70 | 73 | 54 | 62 | 64 | 66 | 69 | 68 |
I love Pavel, not sure why. Winning a classic as stagiare might have helped, he'll stay in our team forever, he's the safest rider out of all the riders we have, the only one that will definitely not leave.
That's all for our talents, Pavel will be the only unmaxed rider next year, which is going be a strange feeling, but we will make sure to sign a few talented riders next year for sure

I need to figure out a way to gain the funds for Aziz despite relegating, just imagine how much he would destroy the CT
Unless you like him enough to keep him around for 1 more year as Froome's super domestique whilst we promote back to PCT. We'll have to go in hard for him when we do get back to PCT no matter where he ends up.
Your talents have progressed well, hopefully they can all step up and increase their PT scoring next year for you, though it's a shame you will have to wait an extra year before being able to train your newly maxed riders.
Loving the renaming of some of your riders there

Decent team for next year... Jugding by stats atleast
Only one rider from your team I'm gonna be heading after this transfer season, since his nationality is still a focus for my team. Considering how little active he has been this season, he shouldnt cost too much

Some strong talents right there. My own scouting staff likes to look at a few names in your squad. I can't wait for the offseason

After MGUCI double standards previously sponsored Tiesj Benoot team is without a sponsor and facing certain disbandment.
