What is the purpose of sport? To make people enjoy competition? To keep people healthy? To experience physical boundaries of the human body?
Surely, it is all of that. But there is an even more important purpose we never should forget about: Bringing people together. Sport may overcome borders, it is able to unite athletes and fans under a common banner.
Geographically, Russia and Eastern Europe are not far from each other - though politically they are even more. Our message is therefore: What counts are not nation borders, not a difficult history and certainly no political confrontation. What really counts are the people coming closer together.
This is our mission, this is the purpose of this team. We want to unite people living all over the world and especially those in Russia and Eastern Europe.

Founded in 1993, its headquarters are located in Cherepovets. With roughly 53,000 employees and an annual production of more than 11 million tonnes of steel, Severstal is one of the world's leading steel producing companies. For more than 60 years now it is the biggest supermarket chain in Slovenia, where the headquarters are located in Ljubljana. Running about 1,500 stores overall with roughly 23,000 employees, Mercator offers a good net of facilities for its customers. Care for the customers, employees and the envirenment are key to this socially responsible company - as well as donations and sponsorships for young people living in its operating region. |
| | | | | | | | | | | Podravka is a Croatian food company based in Koprivnica offering a huge catalogue of products, among which Vegeta should be the best-known. It delivers nutrition for the riders as well. | | | | The largest Russian brewing company, Baltika Breweries is located in St. Petersburg. They support us not only financially, but also with sport drinks for the riders - and beer of course. |
| | | | | | | | | | Stels supports us with frames and parts. It is the cycling brand of Russian company Velomotors, which also produces motorbikes. | | Bosco produces our jerseys and further clothing. The russian apparel brand is strengthening its focus on sportswear. | | In Uvex we trust when it comes down to our rider's safety. The German company will provide helmets and glasses for the team. |

Very good introduction, will follow this team closely.

Welcome to the man-game Silvio. I really like your opening post and philosophy behind your team. Russina market is huge, but beware the king in form of Oleg Tinkov.
I have soft spot for eastern european teams and tend to see them as friendly competition and partners for developmnent, rather than opponents, so i hope we can have good relationship between our teams. Good luck in transfers

Great Intro, will be interested to see where this team goes.
But isn't the European part of Russia technically considered part of Eastern Europe?

@Everybody: Thanks for the kind words, hoping I'll be able to build up a decent team.
@Avin: Yeah, we'll probably have some talks then
@trekbmc: As far as I know, Russia isn't called Eastern Europe, but I'm not sure.
And we are on twitter now!

Good luck Silvio! Loving the intro, one of the best if not the best one so far! I hope you'll keep the HQ updated as you've interestingly done with the other story games

All our sponsors for this season have now been revealed. The jersey will follow as soon as Bosco (if you wonder who that member is: Read our sponsor presentation!) will be done.
@Selwink: I'm looking forward to meeting you in the transfers. Now you just need to strengthen your primary focus and care less for that stupid Russian co-sponsor
@the_holye and matt: Thanks.
@Shonak: If the MG would have started before EPIC Season 2 you were able to read about all that stuff right here.
@Heine: I'm going to work together with other managers instead of trying to compete (especially when they're in PT ).

Although we are still in the planning process in terms of the riders we will be going to sign, the management chose to present the team's goals for this season. We decided on these in negotiations with our sponsors - therefore our target races display both geographical focuses and what kind of riders we are going to sign.
CT Team Standings - Top 10
The overall CT standings are the most evident sign of how a team does throughout a season. Because we want to perform overall and not just in single races, making it to the top third of the rankings looks like an ambitious, but realistic goal.
GP Yekaterinburg (C2HC) - Win
This is our home race. With only one C2/C2HC race located in Russia, it was obvious for us to go all-in here. That is why we want to win it outright. It won't be easy, but we believe in our future riders already.
Tour de Pologne (C2HC) - Top 5
Although none of our sponsors is from Poland, the networking among all Eastern Europe and Russia is our ambition. This stage race is a very hard one and the spectators will surely scream our guys up those climbs.
Tour de Slovenie (C2) - Top 10
Mercator's home country also has its own race and thus we focus on Tour de Slovenie as well. As it is a little unpredictable due to the question how decisive the little climbs will be, aiming for the Top 10 seems just right.
Clasico San Cristobal (C2) - Top 10
OR
GP Tokyo (C2) - Top 10
As all the other races are located in our focus regions, we chose to go for another one in the distance. Being renowned all over the world is vital to every team. Thus we are heading out to Cuba/Japan trying to build up some fanbase over there.

So Netia, OTP, Severstal and Fablok gonna get so many same targets in both races and riders Well I can only say best of luck and I don't hope we'll cross each other much in the transfer season, as all should get some enjoyment out of the game xD
As I know that your quite good at this from EPIC, I just have the worthy opponent I need

Hmm we could potentially have the Clasico San Cristobal goal in common, so just hope you choose Tokyo after the transfer season!
But well goals are not the only indication of the orientation of a team so just like mine your team seems to be pretty hill focused and for your information I don't like it
