I really hope that climbs in this TT will work in Pinot's favour. I don't want to see Valverde on that Podium in Paris!

The TT course is very technical and slightly hilly too. I think it will suit Nibali, and will win his 5th stage. We all know Nibali can TT well when in form. And this long and tough TdF will help him. Also Nibali would like to make yet another point by doing good TT.
We all know Tony Martins is strong in TT but towards end of GT, his TT performance is usually not good that's why I think Nibali would win. If this was small stage race there was no doubt, Tony Martins would win.
2nd and 3rd place should be between Peraud and Valverde. Pinot will not be on podium but should get young rider's classification.
Also TJ can get Bardet for 2min because its nothing over this long course for him. Nevertheless its awesome performance by Bardet.
Rest in top 10 should be safe. Konig and Zubeldia might swap places. Zubeldia was good in TT in good old days. Not sure how he is now, but 2 min should be possible. |

According to INRNG, "The only time trial of the 2014 Tour de France. Ignore the profile above because if the course does have its undulations it’s all about who can turn the biggest gear for an hour."
Suggests that Pinot might not have as much of an advantage in the hills as the profile suggests. However, Valverde has been struggling this tour in the mountains so maybe he wont put in his usual performance.Nevertheless Nibali to win and Peraud & Valverde to podium. |

The profile above is very misleading, if you look closely these hills are zoomed in.
The terrain rises only 100 metres, thats absolutely nothing. 1-2% at best. |

That would be 1% if the route would raise for about 10 km.
If the route rises 100 meters in let's say 2 km, it's still 5%.
(100 meters doesn't sound like much, but imagine 50 doors stacked on top (standing up) and you have to climb that. Quite high)
But indeed, the hills aren't as bad as they look on the profile.

Time dipping already in 1hr 9mins range. If leaders finish like 1hr 3-4mins range then some guys at back might get eliminated. Remember in long TT tme limit is 25%.
Cheng Ji is already 9 min down. |
