4 Races were oversubscribed
Interestingly none were in Europe, instead it was Tour Down Under, Tour of Taiwan, Taldykorgan GP and GP Quebec. These races were very popular, with multiple CT teams being turned away from each one. In particular, the Tour Down Under will see 23 PCT teams with Aussie CT squad Risa Ergon just scraping in.
3 other races also have 24 teams
There are a total of 7 C1/C2 races with 24 teams, and 2 of the extra ones are C2 races: Oberosterreichrundfahrt and the season opener Clasico San Cristobal. The Cuban race has the highest amount of CT teams outside of C2HC, with 22 teams racing there. (2 PCT teams completing the lineup)
Easy ranking points in the time trials
The least popular races this season are Windhoek ITT and Duo Differdange, with just 11 teams involved. Then Monterrey TTT is on 12 teams. (Also low are Lincoln GP on 12, Avila Classic on 13 and interestingly GP Yekaterinburg on 14 - despite the Russian race having the same hill rating as the much more popular San Cristobal). Whoever comes last in Differdange will score 12 ranking points, and whoever comes last in Monterrey will score 15. Considering the majority of teams will have 0 point races across the season, these two are clearly great value!
Grand Tour opportunity for 12
After being very popular and having 20 teams last season, the Tour of America's popularity has dipped again - despite more American teams being involved in the game - and only 12 have signed up. The 8 PCT and 4 CT teams involved will now have a great opportunity for ranking points.
For some of the other longer races, the team totals are: 21 (Vuelta al Tachira), 18 (Tour of Middle East) and 15 (Tour du Faso).
Average number of teams per race
In 27 C2 races, there is an average of 17 teams per race.
In 43 C1 races, there is an average of 18.83 teams per race. Although over 80% of races do have at least 16 teams.

Interesting stats. Good to see a nice team-per-race ratio, the new schedule paid off then. Also interesting to see Tour of America becoming less popular. Might be because of many teams having good sprinters for more one day classics, or because of last year's dominance by only a few GC-riders  Guess we will see 20 teams again next year.
Tour Down Under should be fun then. Nice early-season action to be expected. Oz went for a rather "weak" lineup, though I'm not sure if I brought Gossy or not Cool to see Risa there. Looking forward to what Haas or Matthews will be able to show off on that level.

And you've just blown my hopes to do well in the Vuelta al Tachira... Can only hope no one brings a real sprinter there (No Bennett isn't) so Vanoverschelde can atleast win me something there... Also quite a surprise Yekatrinburg will feature just 14 teams...

Not great so see races that we've sent strong lineups to oversubscribed like Taiwan and Down Under, as well as Tachira having 21 teams. We'll have to settle for lesser results there then I guess.

If Bennett is not a real sprinter, than why is Vanoverschelde? +1 sprint stat sure, but -4 acc stat can be just as important.

Because I say so! But really, I think Kobe is better than Sam, and with the support I give him it should be alright

Actually, the ACC stat might be important in PCM13. I've noticed (not 100% sure if related with the ACC stat) that when a rider starts his sprint in PCM13, he takes some time to gain speed. |

Interesting to see so many teams going to Tachira despite the drain on racedays - was hoping to get something out of it with not many other teams participating but that doesn't look like the case

Two extremes for us. In 5 of the 7 races with 24 teams, but also in Monterrey and Differdange. Tachira won't be fun for us |

Great news that the majority of races are wel subscribed after some of the underpopulated and hence 'odd' AI raced events from last season. The new HC banding seems to have had a good impact.
Ups and downs for Nutresa, as in lots of well subscribed races - have to wait till Yekaterinburg to come across a smaller (not necessarily weaker!) field.
Oh, and we've jumped on the South American bandwagon that is Tachira - one of only 2 C1 outings for our set-up this year. Seemed only fair to let Ochoa Quintero race his home race. Hopefully racing in front of a home crowd will give him that extra impetus to be able to stand toe--to-toe with some of the best climbers in PCT .

People fear TT races? Good for us, Oz and LaVieClaire i think, but it does not matter much, as i aim on podium in every TT race, not depending on starters 
And we are going Down Under too, iirc, with Rabon.

Some good and bad news for me..
Duo Differdange and Monterrey TTT with few teams are great news for me, on the other hand Tour Donw Under with so much competition, it is bad for me because it is the first goal of the season.

Also quite surprised to see Avila being so less of interest.. This may actually be bad news for any top-sprinter participating, as 13 teams may lead to a breakaway succeding. I'm hoping for the right riders in the breakaway, so that the peloton will work well together to pull them back.
As for ToA, I wonder how the AI will handle the small peloton. Could well become a breakaway-festival. Anyway, most teams involved should score some points, but a few should score big time then.
TT-classics undersubscribed ain't news, even though i always wondered why not bring even a low 70TTler to go for minor points? It's the easiest predictable races and with only three riders per team, there's always a good chance to score. Like Avin said, this doesn't really matter to me anyway, as i expect those, who will challenge our goals, at the start anyway

Bad news: at 3 of the 4 oversubscribed races - hopefully Vastaranta doesn't mind the big peleton...
Good news: Looks like my decision to ride the ToA could be an inspired choice - certainly a nice one for Rohregger and Drujon to rack up some quality points in a potentially weak field.

Matthews is actually not racing(TDU clashed with New Zealand Cycle Tour, a goal for me).. Haas on the other hand wants to build on the Bay crits now

Some nice stats there. I wanted 3/4 oversubscribed races, but at the end of the day, it probably did Mendes good. 
I'll be at both Cristobal and Yekaterinenburg, hoping for good results at both.
