The result will only compromise the quality, and it doesn't look good in game. I've already tried this.

Have to disagree with you guys above. In some graphics configurations (which I'm too bothered to test/check exactly which ones right now) the jerseys aren't even displayed in HD; besides, a proper conversion of the jersey (that is, with a good converter, that doesn't lose any more quality than needed to make the shirt bigger) will at maximum make it look as "bad" as PCM12. I don't think that was bad at all, but rather it was simply not 'almost-perfect' as is HD.
