Concord - Mount Washington
The West Coast has long been the preferred riding ground of both amateur and professional cyclists in the United States. After all, who can resist California's nice beaches or Colorado's steep, high altitude climbs? However, the state of New Hampshire has organized a new race, one guaranteed to push the sport's greatest riders to the edge!
The race begins in the state's capital of Concord, and begins its journey to Plymouth, New Hampshire. After a brief stop in Plymouth, the race loops back around towards Mount Washington, a monster of a climb. As the riders climb Washington, they will be exposed to wind speeds over 100 kilometers an hour, heavy fog, freezing temperatures, and snow!
Who will survive the journey up MOUNT WASHINGTON?
There aren't any graphics added to the race yet, but I do plan on adding cities, towns, forests, lakes, etc. This is a playable version of the race though, and I would appreciate any criticisms that you guys can offer. This is the first race / stage that I have created.

It certainly is.
My next stage is going to be a World Championship variant up Mauna Kea (highest mountain in the world when measured from base to summit). Mauna Kea is 61.6 KMs long with an average gradient of 6.1%. It should make for an interesting WC, huh? |

What?! Wow, that seems nice
Make a WC ITT partly up Mauna Kea as well then.
How high is the Mauna Kea then?

I guess 1825 meters. And otherwise use Wikipedia.
The profile of the stage is really nice.

Oh please, no maths, it's holiday
And yeah, could've looked at Wikipedia
Edit: Friggin 4100m.
Is that even possible at PCM?

As this page it's the tallest mountain and Everest is the Highest, but Chimborazo is the furthest from the earth's core.
don't suppose you'd consider making WC varient's for the other 2 aswell if they are covered by .DEM files would you?

Unfortunately, the .dem files for Mauna Kea do not ship with the game. I'm actually going to attempt creating the .dem file myself.
I think it seems simple enough, if I follow this guide: https://education....s/dem.pdf.
If anyone else wants to try, a free trial of ArcGIS can be downloaded here: https://www.esri.c...ree-trial.
If this works, and the entire community works together to create .dem files for missing regions, we can create races in the Himalayas, Chimborazo, and all those other areas. |

I'm in geography so I already tried it, sorry for you it does not work :/
Good luck with your stages

Unfortunately, the GPX files cannot be created. I don't know if I'm doing something wrong or what. This means that I cannot do a WC variant of Mauna Kea.
However, I am working on a WC Variant of Mt. Washington. It will use the actual Mt. Washington Auto Road Bicycle Hillclimb. It's an 8 mile climb with an average gradient of 11.3%. That's roughly 12 KM. I'm thinking of having it loop 15 times, which would mean 180 KMs at an average gradient of 11.3%. OUCH! |

Yes. I manufactured a climb similar trying to create a Mauna Kea stage, but the editor allows only 4500m. 4135 was the limit of mine.

Does anyone know how to fix the "not enough distance between two ways" error? |

Either make the circuit bigger (if it's a circuit) make the distance between the riders taking the same road on the opposite direction bigger (if it's the riders taking the same road on the opposite direction ).

Thanks! What I ended up doing is creating a separate road for the riders to go down the mountain, and then had them loop up and down a few times before heading towards the finish.
I'm in the process of testing it right now. If it is to my satisfaction, I will release it. However, I am very poor at designing the stage outside the route (and even then, not that good with that). If someone wants to beautify it and add trees, banners, etc. . . let me know, and I'll give you the stage file so you can pretty it up. I'll give you some PCM $ to make it worth your trouble!
