Hello everyone!
Recently, I've been messing around with the Stage Editor, and after many trials and tribulations, I'm starting to like it! (when it doesn't crash every 10 minutes) So I've decided to take up a bit of stage-making - please feel free to tell me what you think of my stage[s], I'm sure they're rather amateurish at the moment but I'm just learning I'm also a complete noob at anything to do with editors and the like (I've only just mastered the PCM Fast Editor...) so I'm a bit of a dinosaur in that respect.

My first stage that I've created is a one-day race in Wiltshire, South-West England. I called it a criterium, but it isn't really a criterium, it just sounds cool! It's got a couple of fairly steep hills, one around 9% and another at around 7%, with a short cobbled street; but overall it favours a hilly sprinter - someone like Goss or Rojas.

From the screens it looks really rather good
One thing, on the small villages (screen 10?) it is better to add individual houses and use the fence tool. Avoids some random paved areas and wasted "gardens"

TMM: Thanks for the praise and the advice, I'll take that on board next time
sutty: It has a certain ring to it, don't you think? Cool - I'll look out for it

I noticed that as well.
Perhaps it might serve as a hint to get the Stage Database working again

First of all, I've got some questions. Quite a few actually, so I'd be very grateful if anyone could help me out
When creating stages from a .gpx etc. I add water but there seem to be large cliffs from the land to the water even though in real life it's sandy beaches and very flat etc. Is this a bug? A solvable problem?
When clicking on border objects (ie people, cars), you press delete, and then their 'blob' changes from blue to red, does this mean they've been deleted?
And finally, how do you sink objects? Ive seen it done by a few people but (noob that I am) I cant seem to figure out how you do it
Once again, any help would be much valued, sorry if they're stupid questions

Upon deletion, the "blob" should disappear, I believe...
What do you mean with sinking? A sinking boat or something? Then you unclick "objects stick to landscape" or something, and you can chose the 3D place by the axes. |

Ah didn't notice that button, thanks Boats and other things pretty much
Oh and for the blob, I mean for objects like people that appear when you generate a border, when i press delete they don't go away

If the "blob" turns into red instead of blue, they should disappear. But you have to re-generate the borders to see the effect working. And another thing regarding this: it appears, that this editing of borders does only work in-game, when the "show spectators" is put on 4 in the graphics settings. At least that's my experience

Sometimes, when you move 1 or some water points after you've finished the water connection/even while doing it, you get these cliffs. Indeed annoying bug which has been there since PCM10. The only way to fix it as far as I know is to delete the water (click on one of the points, then tools -> remove selected area), re-doing it, and then not editing (moving) the water points.

Oh and one more question - if you're building a village/town out of IBs, is there a way to make the spectators like they are in a normal town (ie with the fence/boards at the side of the road)?

Armed with new techniques and ideas () I've decided to set out on a new project! A fantasy stage race - Tour de Provence. It's still in the early stages of development, so expect to hear a bit more in the next few weeks or so.
I haven't finalised the route, but of course it's going to include Ventoux
