Hey a question for you all:
what stats are increased with what type of training?
For example: I have all my riders with various trainers being trained on stage races or TT or being a 'fighter' so far my riders have increased in mountain stats but nothing else. If i wanted to increase their stats in say resistance or stamina what would I train them on? Under 'Stage races' i'm guess. Or one of my riders has 6 star potential in downhill..what would i train him under in order to increase that stat as 'downhill' is not an option.
How long does it usually take for them to increase in stats and what is the average increase would you say a rider would get over the course of the season? +1, +2?
Hi Jeremy, to answer your primary question, here's a chart:
The numbers represent how much each attribute gets trained. 3 is the maximum level, while 0 doesn't add anything to the natural growth of your rider.
In order to increase your maximum training results, hire a couple (2-4) of trainers with different specializations, depending on the needs of your entire squad. I recommend that you keep the skill level of the trainers at 8 or higher, for the training program you want your riders to follow. I revise my trainer staff every couple of months, as some riders need to be switched to different programs every now and then. The nice thing is that specific attributes are trained by multiple programs. For example TT and PRL stats are focused on in both Stage Races and TT programs. MO stat is trained in both Climber and Stage races programs etc.
As you can see in the chart, there is no confirmed program for downhill. According to the feedback that has been given on the forum in the past, it gets trained automatically. This may be even for all riders or may be rider-specific. My personal theory however is that it may be linked to the Sprinting program. While I have no evidence to back this up, it seems logical if you look at the high DH stats of most sprinters. My feeling is that I have seen DH stats increase more when using the sprint program. Again, no evidence for this, just my hunch.
To answer your final question, growth speeds are different for each rider. I have seen young and unskilled talents reach stardom in less than two years. I have also seen very constant linear growth rates, where it takes a couple of seasons.
While I can't provide evidence, you can assume that growth speeds are logically affected by the amount they are trained in according to their program, as well as the skill level of the trainer on that particular program.
Finally, apart from rider's individual speeds, there is also a growth factor which you decide upon when starting your career, which determines the overall growing rate of riders throughout the career.
Like I said above, assigning the proper program with the right trainer is key. With the standard growth factor and trainers with skill levels at 10, I estimate my riders get about 2-3 points of stat growth per season in the key stats that they are trained in.

The description is rather complicated and his training "theory" is even wrong.
0 means normal increase. So all stats will increase, even if they are not on the list. Numbers above 0 represent a faster increase.
But this has been asked and answered millions of times before. You might want to use the forum search if you don't want to depend on "theories".

I tried to explain everything as clear as possible, I'm not sure how I can make things more clear:
-Numbers represent training relative bonuses, 0 = no bonus, natural growth
-Trainer skills and the program you are using influence your rider's growth
-Align these to achieve maximum result
-Certain attributes are trained in multiple programs
-The general opinion is that training program selection does not impact DH stat growth
-Rider growth speed is different for each rider
-Rider growth speed is also influenced by the growth factor selected at the start of the career.
Nothing of the above is my personal theory. Everything is directly from the manual or from this forum, and he can rely on it for his game, you know that too. The only theory I supplied is the one about Downhill training, and I made it clear that it is just my personal theory, and he should not take it for granted.
I don't think you should dismiss my entire post only for that, you and I both know that everything else was comletely relevant and reliable. Also, you don't need to put the word theory in quotation marks, a theory is a supposed explaination for a certain phenomenon that is not proven as fact and may be false. This is exactly what my Downhill paragraph was about.
No problem at all, and no offense taken. Defending my point is all part of a healthy discussion It was not my interest to start an argument, only to give the right information to the topic starter.
