Hi to everyone!
I'm very proud to present you this new feature for PCM12:
After a long time testing and trying everything, finally we have the paravalanche barriers (last time seen in PCM09) for PCM12.
Here is the readme file included in the download:
**Paravalanche_Barriers_for_PCM12_V2.5**
"Paravalanche Barriers PCM12 by Camacho (PCM.Daily member)"
Note about the Paravalanche Barriers:
The new Paravalanche Barriers have been created by myself using and editing the next original objects by Cyanide:
-Paravalanche_Locale.nif and Paravalanche_Nationale.nif: (Located in Main PCM09 directory\Blocs\BridgesAndTunnels. Original by Cyanide).
-Tun_XXXXXX_2LaneX_00.nif: (Located in Main PCM12 directory\3D\Landscapes\Roads\BridgesAndTunnels. Original by Cyanide).
Installation of the new Paravalanche Barriers for PCM 12:
Extract the 3D folder in the main directory you have installed the game.
**Note about illumination**
Sadly, PCM12 only can manage bridges and tunnels, so the paravalanches must be included into one of these groups. Because of its similarity, I have included them into the tunnels group. You have to notice that into the tunnels there is an special illumination in a yellow tone so into the paravalanches there is the same illumination. Personally, in my opinion this illumination into the paravalanche is not real so I have edited one file to delete this illumination. You must go to: C:\Program Files (x86)\Cyanide\Pro Cycling Manager - La Vuelta - Temporada 2012\3D\Lighting and there you have TunnelLighting.xml. You have to renamed or delete it and then the illumination is not applied ingame. The cause is that in tunnels there is no more illumination, but I prefer it. Of course, do what you want with this situation about illumination.
**Note about terrain around the paravalanches**
Because of the paravalanches are included into tunnels group, when you spawn a paravalanche the terrain created is similar to a tunnel so you have to edit it with the terrain tools. After some testing, the best option is using the tool "terrain flatten". You have to select a circle similar to the road width and then go into the paravalanche with this tool smoothly to clear the road into the paravalanche. It might sounds a little complicated but when you have tried a bit it is very easy to make the paravalanche looks fine.
*******************************************************************
**Changes in V2.5**
-Now the barriers are not transparent if you look them from the back side.
**Changes in V2.0**
-I have included the TunnelLighting.xml modified. Now you have a dark-grey illumination instead of the original orange-yellow illumination. I prefer it because it gives the sensation of half-light into the tunnels and barriers.
-I have included 2 new barriers. These new barriers have no intermediate columns along the barrier main structure.
-I have compilate the files in the correct folder structure to make an easy installation with copy-paste.
-Original Cyanide files backup included in the download.
***************************************************************
And here the download link:

Have fun! Hope you enjoy it!
Camacho.

Great job again Although I think both threads would suit more in the stages forum

I wandered to where to put the threads. First I thought about placing the threads in the stages forum but finally I change my decision... I thought maybe the graphics forum was better, I don't know...
For me is perfect that the thread is here in the stages forum. That was my first idea.
If you want to put the isolatedbuildings thread here too, I'm agree.

Great job Camacho.
But what about adding such things into stages which will be uploaded to the Stage DB. Do the other users need that stuff as well thus they can see these graphical additions?

I'm fairly sure that you need to download the files to see them in the game.

As Pellizotti2 said if I include these elements in a stage and you don't have installed them then you can't see them ingame.
It's the same thing about isolated buildings: if you don't have installed an object that other stage maker has used, you will not see it in your game or stage viewer...
I have tried this a time ago and if you don't have the files installed in your game you don't see them.

But the stage will be playable for them who don't have the files? Because I can remember how it was with the podium pack. If you didn't have the podium file the stagemaker used you couldn't even play the stage.

I didn't change the thread's location, I'm not an admin to have such powers But I agree with that as well

Haven't tested it, but if the game crashes when you have a stage with barriers and don't have the files for it, you could leave a comment on the stage in the stage DB saying that "you need this file to play" or something like that

couldnt a way to avoid this in future be to include such files into any Daily db's?
just an idea, as i know more people download the db's than other stage or graphics files eg. Dailys 2012 Expansion pack has 4947 dl's, while the NextGen Sponsorkits has only 1161, and individual stages are downloaded even less

With "you" I was referring to admins in a general way but I thought that perhaps you suggested the admins to change the thread location.

I have tested a stage with barriers but I have deleted them from the PC and you can run the stage, but you don't see these elements. But as I said, you can run the stage perfectly.

Hey Camacho. I installed your paravalanche barriers but every time I try to put them (Le Tourmalet), the SE bugs and shut down ?

It's strange, very strange. I have them installed and I have put three of them in my new stage (Tourmalet) and they work fine. Make sure you have installed correctly the files and the .xml file. Without this file, the SE crashes. And of course you have to overwrite the old file.
Have you tried the new 2.0 version?
It would be very important that someone test the paravalanches to confirm that they work or not in other machines. I have to say that for me they are ok.
There is no reason for your SE crash.

Hi to everybody.
I have notice that the back side of the barriers is transparent, so I have decided to solve this issue. I have updated the first post with 2.5 version of the barriers with no transparency on the back side and surely it could be the final version.
In my computer works perfectly. I'll wait for your testing...
