How to improve better
suarsenegger
Hi. It's my first message so I'll try to make it short Wink
Sometimes you've got a climber rider and you see that he will improve more at TT. What do you do?
Is it better to make him training TT or continue training CL even there's only a star remainig at this discipline?
And is it really important the effect of the "personal trainer"?. I mean that if your are training TT and the Personal trainer has only 2 points at TT, could it lower the progression or even make the rider never reach his trully possibilities?
For instance I had Taramaee and he was a climber so I began his training as climber. But at some point he reached his best at climbing and now is "northern classic".
Thank you.

It was here in several other threads before I think.
But here is an overview:

The category "climber" northern specialist" etc. isn`t really important. The game counts all averages for each category and the best category will be shown. But you can do whatever you want with him of course.
Also the trainer isn`t really important in my opinion, of course you get a small bonus in the increasing speed, but not very much. The table explains the normal training system. The higher the number the higher the bonus in this category. 0 doesn`t mean "no training", it just means 100% normal training without any boost.

So if you want to train him as climber and he has still some stars there then choose climber and give him a nice trainer. For Climber and TT train him as stage racer and so on.
If there are no more stars then he can`t improve longer.

Thanks a lot.
And do you know what is the best training to improve dowhills? I assumed it must be climb or puncheur, but not sure.
Thanks.

From what I know, there's no way to improve downhill and fighter attributes.

luigi, that's wrong.

If a stat is not on the list provided by roturn, then it will be trained without bonus (or as roturn as called it: 100%) whatever training you choose.

lets say i let cavendish do the climber training, will his sprint stats get lower as he improves his abilities in the mountains, since he is neglecting the sprint training?

i guess its not like this, but still im not sure.. and in my opinion itd actually be more realistic that way, dont you agree?

It would be more realistic, yes, but the game is not like this. roturn explained it very clearly:
The higher the number the higher the bonus in this category. 0 doesn`t mean "no training", it just means 100% normal training without any boost.
(see the full post above if you have no clue what I tried to point out)

yea i read that and it made me actually guess that there wont be any decline, just wanted to be sure Smile
id say maybe that could be some fine tuning cyaninde should do for the 2011 sequel Wink

read the above can anyone tell me on average what the potential stars mean to training. ie if i have a rider thats 61 on flat with one star. does that mean if hes trained does he gain 1 every year ? or does it mean something else

roturn
Each star means a maximum impovement of 1-2 stats in his whole career.
So if you have a 61 flat with just one star he will never be better than 62-63.
After reaching this limit there won`t be a star anymore.

I hired a rider that had mountain-76 and 4 stars and now is mountain-84 and 0 stars, so in this case the stars-ratio was 3 points per star. According to that, someone might think that it's imposible for a rider to reach 85 with less than 67 (6 is the máximun number of stars), but I have another rider who was 51 when i signed him and he'll become a 78 (with 6 stars). I supose that's because it doesn't show more than 6 stars even the rider's potential is better than that.

You're right with your theory, but if your rider improved 8 points and he "used up" 4 stars for that, that makes a stat-star-ratio of 2, not 3, which is exactly what has been said here before.

Alakagom
4*3=12

84-76=8

The rider increased 2stats per stat, or maybe you meant 72 ?

But it is posiible to increase 3 stasts per star, but it doesn't happen often.

edit; ciao beat me too it ;p

A rider with 51 goes to 78?

Btw, how much time did it take for such a progress? And he will become 78 and already became 78?

suarsenegger
Sorry, I was wrong with the example. I was thinking in two cases and I posted the 2points-per-star case. Now I see that the 3 stars case is with the same rider in acceleration, but that must be because he had 6 stars 64 acc and now he is 4 stars 71. So I think that from this moment on he will improve 2 points per star as usual.

Sometimes it doesn't take too long to get a big improvement. I had a rider who was 70 cob and after a month he reached his best 84 and he is 24 years old. It was suprisingly sudden. On the other hand, the one I mentioned before (the wrong example) took 4 years from 76 to 84 with a good mountain trainer working with less than 8 riders.
