The domestique of Saxo has performed the worst i have ever seen in the mountains. Contador was fatigued because he has been so alone for many stages, and ofc with crashes and big efforts he payed the price today. But for the Tour i expect all of them to be better. Tinkov will make sure of this |

So Landa lost the KOM jersey and a stage win just so Aru can win this stage. Ok Astana...
2nd for Aru and stage win on the queen stage for Aru is worth more then Landa 2nd, stage win on the queen stage for Landa and the Blue Jersey... It was a pure business decision imo. |

Zakarin dropped 7 minutes back to help Trofimov.

All in all. This Giro has been very overrated. Imagine the outrage if Froome.exe had been 5 mins ahead of 2nd guy in Tour.

Yeah and they've looked suspicious for the whole Giro.

And when you look at Dario Cataldo, at Sky he wasn't a superb climber, but he was ok. Then at Astana he seems like one of the best in the world.
Look at Landa last year he finished 34th at the Giro, which is good, but its a pretty meteoric rise to a top 3 overall, and two stage wins, when he hasn't done anything special so far this year.
The UCI should of taken Astana's license off them, when they had the chance.
Don't want to sound like a defender of Astana, but this post has bunch of overexaggerations. Also you count out the fact that this Giro doesn't have a very strong startlist. |

I honestly think Astana should have attacked on the Finestire maybe 5km or so earlier. Could have gained much more time on Contador when he was most vulnerable.

Ahh, so the 2:22 he lost to Aru was again a mirage?
Considering that at the point of landa´s pull back Landa had over a min to Contador, had over 30secs to Aru so if he had gone.
Well, if you cant see the writing then you need to learn to read.
He didn't lose 2:22 up the last climb though, he lost 2:22 in total... Landa went more or less full gas up the last climb and he took about 1:30 on Contador up there, so if he went for it solo he still only would have been about 3 minutes ahead, which is still over 2 minutes from pink...
Contador rode even with Landa on the descent which meant Landa had 0% chance to get pink, so Astana made the decision to pull him back to get Aru into 2nd and also try to win the Queen Stage with Aru which is a good business decision from Astana since Aru is a golden goose from a marketing point of view.
Is that fair to Landa? Not really but he just has to deal with it. |

Definitely not.
It's not about the race lead, but about racing. And in this Giro, we've had surprises and hard racing in every single stage. That's just amazing |

It was a slim chance, but nevertheless a chance. You never know how much Contador would lose...
If I had been Landa, I would just have taken the victory, 2nd overall, the KOM and get the fack outta that Kazahk/Italien bullshit team. So angry at Martinelli, what a completely douche
Yeah, not saying it was fair towards Landa, just saying that it was the best business decision for Astana. |

It's been good racing but I feel like a lot are overreacting over this Giro. The hype is real. |

Please do enlighten me where the other 2 minutes 21 seconds were going to come from.

I dont agree with that either. If business is to let go of one of the best, upcoming climbing talents who is the most loyal rider I have ever seen, then yes. In terms of Aru winning the stage, you are right, but I dont know why you just wouldnt go with Landa today. Would be furious if I was him and not a chance I would sign with them again wihich surely would hurt them in the long run, unless those fat old kazahk men choose to throw even more money into Nibali and Aru's team |

Can you tell me where you bought the crystal ball you have? because otherwise you might need to tone down the rhetoric a bit. And not try to be so sure that Landa couldn't have taken the Rosa.
At the point of the descend Landa had 1:45 to Contador , that's almost 2min even before the climb and if Landa didn't as it showed give everything, there is a chance of him gaining the time he needed. Would he have gotten it? well noone can tell. But the chance was there
As to Astana´s tactic well, Vino have always been a black moraled guy, so sure Aru a italien rider winning stages might bring them more PR and give Aru a gift for staying with them. But in the grand scheme of things, its poor tactics , poor sportsmanship and just poor in general. |

There was a real chance that Landa could have taken pink. He was 1'44" ahead Contador on the descent and stopped riding hard, went to discuss with Zakarin and then stopping completely.
Such a hollow win for Aru.

Trofimov has lost 7 minutes today, big loser of today, dropping down to 10th GC.
