I guess that answers a question asked earlier to you: will you ever smile again?
I will never smile again. Horner's win touched me in a bad place
And just when you thought you were getting over Froome, Horner happened |

It is nice to see this thread is full of professionals who cycle 6+ hours everyday and therefore have an idea of how difficult it is do the Vuelta and what is possible.....
Mind you, a couple of us sometimes ride bikes, even half-decently.
If we can't speak for anything, at least we can read or hear, and re-explain it. Maybe we're just too stupid to read too, but kindergarten was quite a long time ago, so it's fine to assume some of use might have at least some education and enough brain to understand the conclusions of researchers' work.
What's possible and what's not is quite known. LeMond was clean or performing like a clean guy, and was an extremely gifted person for cycling.
20 or 25 years ago riders were already tested, measured on every aspect. Greg LeMond's numbers are known. VO2, Power output, efficiency, etc.
Same thing for proven doped riders, Ullrich, Armstrong, etc. So the effect of doping can be measured, especially when matched with clean riders from the same era or nowadays.
Mind you, what it was possible to achieve clean 25 years ago is not very different to what it is possible to do nowadays.
What Horner does is above what's possible, and rather close to what was done in the EPO & transfusions years (Armstrong's years).
All that at forty-fucking-two.
Other leaders are slightly above what's possible (cleanly).
Sorry for explaining, I'm probably just a retard with no clue and who's never seen a bike (I swear I saw some on TV once though), like all people who express doubts or point their finger at Horner. |

He's some sort of Redneck-Samurai super hybrid

A Kenyan and a Japanese GT winner...you can't say McQuaid's 'expand the sport'-policy isn't successful

He'd be just 40. He might need to wait a couple years to gain some much needed experience.

Horner
As for the doping talk, we'll know in about 10 years, just don't worry about it now and enjoy the spectacle.
Great racing by Nibali and Horner! |
