Did you want to take it to the next level?
Allow me to step it up a notch

I remember from Economy lessons on school, Luxembourgish people make twice as much as Norwegians
But Luxembourg is so small the average is probably influenced by the Schlecks
If the prices are twice as high a 2-room apartment in the capital would cost a million euros...
Oil prices are lowest of all of Western Europe, I remember

Well, the state owns all the oil and keeps saving all the money from it while roads, schools, hospitals, etc are deteriorating... |

Unless you're an executive, a manager, an accountant or something, you don't earn that in a supermarket here. Even after 30 years.
We have high prizes to weigh up for that
I actully made 20€ an hour at my summer job last year. All my 17€ supermarket friends were jealous.
I trust you, but I'm amazed. Question is : which taxes are included or excluded from that sum of money ?
Because here, the minimal wage is 9,40 €/h, which makes it a net of about 7 €/h. As we work an average of 152 h / month, you do the math, and the minimal monthly wage is somewhere between 1 050 and 1 100 € net, monthly.
Earning 80 % more for a random supermarket job is just incredible.
Maybe I should move to Norway and find a job not too far from the beaches.
Taxes excluded, We're not Luxembourg
Oh, and engineers are in high demand here ( which is part of the reason I applied for Mechanical Design engineering at the local uni) and there are some pretty nice beaches in the south east (Vestfold representin' ) and once every thrid year or so we have actual summers! (this year is not among them)
How hard can it be?

I think if you set your foot in Kongsberg as a job-seeking engineer you will get a job immediately. It's the Siliicone Valley of Norway |

Norway is not exactly the kind of foreign place I'd first think of, if considering a move abroad, but it's good to know.
I'll keep it in a corner of my mind, just in case. |

In Kongsberg there is also a big international community as I said on the previous page, I know about Portuguese, Americans, Italians, Brits and even a Frenchman, I think, who works there. The working language is English, and then I mean everything. My maths teacher is English and used to work as an engineer there |

No beaches though . Just endless forrested hills... and a ski resort, which is better than beaches if you ask me.
How hard can it be?

You also have most of the best ski resorts under 2 hours away. It takes an hour to Oslo by train.. |

Most working class people make 25 bucks an hour here... if they half tenure and are hard working. Your country must be super rich.
RIP Exxon Duke, David Veilleux, Double Feature, and Monster Energy

When I'm done with my education in July next year, I'll be cand.comm. in Journalism. Currently have a BA in Journalism/Social Studies. |
