And there are quite a few black cyclists, Gene isn't the only one..
He is the only one who has been racing at WT level

He isn't. Pro Continental.
Also Europcar signed on another Eritrean for next year. So there are a few out there.

"Racing at the WT level" means exactly that. Europcar get wildcards.

They are Team Type 1 right? Thta is everything there supposed to stand for.
I think that both diabetics and non-diabetics should prove themselves worthy of a place in the team. The only one of the diabetics in the team who deserve to be in based on results is Mejias. As I said, TT1 should focus on diabetes awareness, just like Radioshack and Livestrong.
I was always led to believe that all the cyclists at Team Type 1 were diabetic, but apparently not. There are 23 riders in the Pro Cycling Team but only 5 of them suffer with type one diabetes |

Their mission:
We strive to instill hope and inspiration for people around the world affected by diabetes. With appropriate diet, exercise, treatment and technology, we believe anyone with diabetes can achieve their dreams.
How do they do that, by throwing the diabetics under the table and start winning races with the non diabetics? How does this give hope to others with diabetes if the team supposedly raising awareness and providing hope to those with the disease wont even focus on developing the team with diabetic riders.

A few news, from today's newspaper, although some were already public :
Le Mével will ride for a French team next season. According to the paper, it'd be either Heulot's team (current Saur-Sojasun, but the sponsor for next season is not known yet), either Cofidis. According to Le Mével, it might be none of those two.
At Saur, riders under contract until late 2013 are :
A. Delaplace
J. Engoulvent
B. Feill
J. Hivert
F. Jeandesboz
D. Le Lay
C. Lemoine
JM Marino
J. Simon
Y. Talabardon
É. Tortelier
Then some riders have extended or will extend their contract :
C. Laborie
R. Martias
M. Méderel
JL Païani
P. Poux
Five news riders have also been recruited, but names are not revealed yet, besides Maxime Daniel (from Sojasun Espoir).
Leaving riders are :
Coppel, Bessy, Poulhiès (Cofidis)
Levarlet (bound to join Cofidis as well)
Mangel (FDJ-Bigmat)
A. Coyot won't have a new contract
J. Galland is uncertain, he might stay, being the 24th rider of the team if they have 24, they'll have 23 otherwise. |

Pozzovivo could be a good sign for some Italian team that let go too many good riders in this period, just saying |

Vacansoleil, Saxo Bank and Garmin also rumoured to be interested.

I know Dombrowski has been mentioned a lot and is believed to be Liquigas' main target.

It's going to interesting to see what happens with Liquigas. Isn't Cannondale taking over as the main sponsor? If Radioshack/Nissan collapse they should be able to grab a couple more American riders. Busche and King come to mind, plus the neo's from Bontrager.
Dombrowski is certainly a hot ticket right now. He's linked with Liquigas/Cannondale, Garmin, and Sky. Wonder if BMC will try to throw their name in the hat too? |

Yep I believe Cannondale are becoming main sponsor, and with Radioshack Nissan in the lurch financially wouldn't be surprising to see them take a load of the Radioshack men.
There's certainly a load of teams after Dombrowski, but Cannondale are certainly favourites, especially now Nibali's gone they need a new GT leader, Dombrowski would fit that, maybe not now but in the future. |

Not sure. He'll be one more sprinter in a sprinters team. |
