Not sure if it's what you mean, but U23 teams and races were removed in a recent patch.
Ah why was this?
Pretty sure they said it didn't work, although it seemed to work fine. The comments here: https://pcmdaily.c...dmore=1018 and earlier on in this thread might have an explanation or at least opinions.

Ah right, yeah seemed fine the first time i used it. Thanks for the quick response. Already finished a career with a classics rider, and was looking forward to a dutch stage race rider who would win the tour de future on the way to the tour for real. |

I thought I read the patch 2.0 logs wrong. I really want to race the U23 category. Damn Cyanide removing an already working feature. I guess I should move forward then, and sign for Pro Tour instead of going back to continental.

Well, that season's over...
Got sick with something right before the TdF, which i had been building up for all season. Barely raced anything else. Takes me out until just before the Vuelta, but my fitness is way too low to be able to do well. Finished 11th. Raced like, 6 races all season and didn't get a single top 5 Ahh well, my 82 MO 81 Hill 80 TT stage racer will come back stronger next season!
When you can't decide between two options, flip a coin. Not because the result of the coin will choose for you, but because, in that split second before the coin lands, you'll know what side you want it to fall on.

Strange, I got the new patch and was able to race U23 races in my first 2 seasons. Make sure you are in a continental team. Pro continental teams are not allowed to participate in U23 if I am correct.

Yesterday I tried getting to the IV stage in my career by getting the mountain jersey in Tirreno Adriatico. After an epic sprint with Visconti (riding for another italian pro continental team so it was obvious his abjective too) on the last mountain sprint, I lost the jersey by 1 point. So no Giro for me this year yet... I thought.
My team (Nippo-Fantini) also got an invitation to tour de Romandie, just one week before the Giro, could I go for a jersey win there?
After getting in the breakaway every day I did win the mountain jersey. However I could not sign up for the Giro anymore although the IV symbol blocking it was now gone. It was not because I was already signed up for other races and my team did have a wildcard for the Giro. Apparently I had to sign up for the race more in advance?
Nevertheless, I will go to the giro next year then.
One story I would like to share though. In one of the stages in tour de romandie the breakaway did laast till the end. A group of 8 riders was cut down to 2 riders thanks to me going fast on every mountain sprint. I was in the wheel of the one remaining rider, however i suddenly slowed down while the peloton was on our heels. Afraid of being overruled, I started sprinting at 2.2 km to go. I managed to stay ahead of the peloton but got beaten by my breakaway companion who succefully lured me into starting the sprint too early.
Outsmarted by the AI, you could say. So it was a very fun race. |

Seriously? Oh too bad I've already signed on a pro tour team. I guess I'll have to edit this time.
Meanwhile my rider is able to gather some win late in the season, beating the likes of Ulissi, Sanchez, etc. Now I'll try and win Giro di Emillia.

Stats are capped on a upper limit when the rider is created, based on rider type (stage racer, time trialist etc) and potential, so a complete switch to a different category would be unlikely to go as well as you'd possibly want it to.
Sadly, I've found the above to be true.
I've toyed with making a stage rider, but train him as puncher to get hill and acc (primarily) as high as possible. Whatever bonus flat skill I get while at it doesn't hurt.
However. It seems like ACC is capped at 68 for GC riders. Also, if sprint get above 60, you might see a red arrow pointing down in training if your focus doesn't have sprinting in it.
I'm really gutted, as it imo basically means that building a climber with focus on improving physical skills is pretty much the best way to win the grand tours. TTR improves with climbing training too and you can win much, much, much more on climbs than on a TT anyways. |

Spreadsheet for grand champion start up showing max stats for each cyclist type.
These are obviously random each time but give an idea to help if you want a particular type of rider.
You could also use the editor to do a point based start up and say if you increase mountain by 6 ponts you have to reduce other stats by 6 points.

That work now?

Document seems to be viewable upon request only. You should probably change that.

As long as I remember, training in Climbing and Barodeur gives you points in downhill.

I can't believe this, I am at my very first season as a Climbing talent but I am currently invited to race at Road World Championships. Perhaps because I won my National Championship earlier in front of Contador, Rojas, and Valverde, etc.

Is there any hope of a new patch soon that would make U23 races playable again?
Because I completly lost the hype of Be a Pro with that...

Me too. I just lost hope after the 2nd patch, they completely remove the milestone races of being a young rider.
Can anyone confirm that you can still play U23 races given that you ride on a Continental team?

Only the regular ones, not the Nation Cup ones. And only if your team signs up for them.
