Poor positioning for Rodenberg and he got blocked in in the end there. Without a train that's partially on us. Congrats to Jura!

Atleast Boutopoulos tried to mix it in the sprint. After a bunch of stages without even trying (no one in the break here either) it was a welcome new feeling.
We really need to be more active. We don’t have Big ambitions in this race, but we sure are not doing anything either.

Ah again Nur Hasan did so well to be in the right place but just doesn’t go our way. Very happy with how well he has been doing though, maybe potential future development isn’t off the cards after all.
Congrats to Fab, really like Groves and hope he kicks in from here.
Thanks for the report!

Yet again not a single rider in the first group. Can’t really understand why that is. I understand that we have no incitament to chase or fight, but numerous riders in my team should have an equally easy time following than sitting up.

Godoy is sitting in good position ahead of the mountains. It seems like the AI is treating him well so far. My concern is if he hangs out at the back of the top 10 throughout the race and then gets leapfrogged by the breakaways in the last week.
Congrats to the winners so far and thank you Imladrik, it has been very fun to follow!

Not sure why I thought this was going to be a mountain stage. Happy with a podium from Formolo.
Tullet really strong so far. Would have loved to see Sossa one day in white to make it 3/4 distinctive jersey worn in this Tour. Still could make it 3 if Formolo goes for the KoM, which I hope he will.
It looks like cycleYorkshire really want to keep very close to us in terms of stage wins

What a Tour this have been for Rabobank and cycleYorkshire. Congratulations again, ryant!
Happy to see Romo try to create gaps, but obviously difficult with the peloton in chase/shut down mode.
Thank you for the report, Imladrik! Looking forward to the mountains |

What a weird stage for Skjelmose to start caring. Not really his terrain at all. Not that I'm complaining after his first week. It was nice to see him at the front of the Tour de France in ours colors. Unfortunately, no splits today compared to the on paper less interesting profiles earlier in the week.
Deserving winner though on his exact type of stage. Congrats!

Another nothing stage, not much to say. Frankiny and Zwiehoff have been losing time for fun so would be good to see one of them have a crack in the mountains. Congrats Ryan, what a race for you guys so far! Thank you for the report

Another bland mountain stage for the year chalked up, not much going on at all. Glad Higuita was in the break but sadly couldn’t go on with it or gain much time back, a great win for Fouche though, congrats jandal!
Stüssi did well, Frankiny and Zeiehoff with him is good to see too - hopefully having a few strong riders with him helps. Hopefully somebody can get into the break tomorrow as well.
Thanks for the report!

It looks like we trust our skills too much. Formolo should have been in the breakaway, not try to win the stage from the pack. A lot of points already for Egger in the polka dots classification.

Pretty mundane introduction to the mountains. Of course, it's hard for me to really complain about that when repeat attacks and attrition would hurt Skjelmose more than most. These are unfortunately the kind of stages we need.
Speaking of which, really nice stage for us. Sulvaran in the break was fun. I knew he had no chance to win on this type of terrain, but cool to hold on for a placing. The TDF is the only race where a lower top 10 on a stage has some real value, so that was a pleasant surprise.
As for the rest of my guys, it was a pretty nice outing. Skjelmose in the front group and seemed to have priority. My other guys were around and seemed to benefit from a generous lack of gaps by the timekeepers such that they're now in minor placings too. I'm hoping they don't incidentally get GC leadership or something, but hopefully things shake out properly int he next few stages. Ideally we'd get Gregaard in some breaks as I think he could be a major factor in those if they let him, with Skjelmose being our more steadfast stage race behind. But I don't want to ask for too much and end up in a worse spot.
Skjelmose getting into white already was a nice surprise. I figured at least a couple guys above him would hang onto that relatively large final group, but happy that wasn't the case. Still very much time for that to change, but I hope keeping white is something of a priority going forward. If we can keep it the next 12 stages and ultimately win it, that's another 100 points in the bag, as well as a really cool addition to the palmares.
Congrats to jandal!

Very little gain by Lecuisinier and the break ahead makes this a disappointing stage. The plan was to take over yellow tomorrow which might be very difficult now but would still be important to get a notable scoring output out of this race.

FFS. Join the break will ya?
I have never felt like just getting a race over with as much as this one. And it being the TdF is so frustrating

Leknessund was solid in stage 8. The mountain stage was not very selective, so he's still in a great place in GC. But eventually the better climbers will start passing him.

Cedric bringing us a 4th place on such a stage is a massive surprise! And cool to be part of the breakaway here, which made the stage interesting from the start for us
Happy to see us go for the breakaway here. Was definitely nervous and afraid of us doing nothing seeing we've prioritized Romo/sprints on the first 8 stages. Great to see the other riders given the chance in the mountains! Think we must try our luck these two first weeks, as the last week likely will see considerably stronger climbers join the breakaway fun than what our riders are. |

Super interesting stage. I think i liked what we tried here but the outcome was quite bad i'd say. With Foss, Eenkhoorn, Krasts and Bergstrom in the winning break, you'd expect that at least one of them would finish in the top ten. Lecuisinier also gaining relatively little time and now the break and i also dont like the gap that was given to strong break riders here. By now, it seems obvious that this wont be the super high scoring TDF that we were hoping for.

Not ideal to allow decent climbers such a huge gap here. With Evonik and Fastned in the break with some of their best helpers, work was given to Tinkoff alone basically.
Shouldn`t happen too often really.
That said, if the break takes it, Vanhoucke shouldn`t lose contact that early next time. He suddently vanished from the break and never was seen again. He could have helped Phinney a lot better then.
He on the other hand did fantastic. Losing on couple riders is all fine, while still gaining on several more riders. Still 3rd best actual GC riders and Lecuisinier will easily pass him anyway, but if he can keep this up, the GC might be higher than expected. Top10 is all I wanted here and right now the gap to Haig, Oomen, Formolo, Eastman, Olivier etc. is looking decent.
Thanks for the report and congrats to King Power and Sony for their nice results today. |

Not sure what our plan is with Formolo for the mountain stages, but I sure hole we have one as we just missed out on two perfect opportunities.
