Like 90's versus present day (not that everything is whiter than white today of course but still).

W52. Amaro and Alarcon basically won more than 3 minutes by themselfs against the Nocentini group. Poor Neilands holded on with them as much as we could (he was in the break) but he just couldn't resist the last 10km

I`d still say Neilands performance was most impressive though.
I mean it was against a W52 duo, which he challenged a lot better than anyone could expect. |

Sadly, I struggle to believe that performance by W52 was natural and that they are a clean team. I mean, beating your GC rivals 1-2 by almost five minutes is simply "not normal" isn't it? |

To be fair, Alarcon and Antunes are the best climbers in the Portuguese calendar.
With that being said, I think everyone at this point assumes/knows that A Volta is the least clean race in professional cycling.

I'm not surprised no Pro Conti teams are racing. They know its fishy. and look at W52, their performances at other races are TERRIBLE!

Alarcon has done an incredible season, beating Quintana in Asturias, losing by count-back to Oscar Sevilla in Madrid, winning a stage in a Portuguese stage race, and now dominating Volta a Portugal.
In Spain were are wondering when he will be caught. Also we are having lot of fun with him

W52 has performed as well as they have throughout the season, Portugal is just their peak. They're the 3rd best scoring CT team according to CQ, and they'll most likely be 2nd after this race.
No way it's terrible.

Lol nothing is doped more than W52. And good to point out they have done so the entire season.
The doped their way to the win in Asturias and many other races, beating even WT level (Quintana) riders on their fantastic regime of whatever the fuck they are swallowing.
If W52 is clean then they should race WT and challenge Froome. Their 7w/kg riders will probably beat them with the 31year old supertalent Raul Alacarcon as their main guy.
The same Alarcon who did jack shit at Saunier Duval when he became a pro.
Haha don't make me laugh. Anyone defending W52 must be living in a twilight zone |

Wait for mihai cazacu and others on twitter to calculate the performance data.
Every year it's higher watts than the Tour de France. I don't see why it would be different this year.
It's not fishy it's radioactive
The fun part is Alarcon was a domestique for the flats until last year
At 30 years old he learned to climb. Amazing, right? |

If you're talking about me, then I'm not defending them I'm perfectly aware that their cocktail of drugs is the heaviest in the peloton, was just pointing out that Portugal is not the first race they dominate

Since we're talking about W52.
About 10 years ago cyclingnews had a blurb in the news articles about a kid riding in cadets races in portugal had been caught doping and the portugese were shocked and bla bla
Earlier this year it was pointed out to me that that kid is now a pro with W52. |

As was pointed out on Twitter last week, the "reward" for the top TdF team should be to take on W52 in Portugal.

Antunes <3
Shame he couldn't drop Balarcon.
BUT, As much as I'm happy about the great Antunes winning and showing his talent (It is obvious he is doping, but he destroyed the Volta a Futuro on Sao Macario and was noticed by some people who were disappointed it took so long to get to a good level) yet again, his chances of going to a PCT or WT team decrease considerably with this result.
But hey, that's what you get when you do it so ridiculously.
Also I thought Balarcon was fading yestreday after flying since Asturias but he proved me wrong. He is not even close to fading.
Also Neilands surprised me, didn't expect him to be so good today

So, if everybody is aware of the doping - why no action against it?

The riders in W52 at least race against themselves and give us some spectacular racing.
