Just drag the folders/files over, like you were installing a db. I've done that before, I think on PCM 10 if you move over a certain file it makes the game think you've updated your game, but you really haven't so I could play with the 2nd last patch, instead of the last patch, which ruined gameplay that year. Only difference here is you move all the files over instead of just one.
That's a crap ton of work but I'll try it.
Also, what about files that already exist? DO I replace them?

Well its not that much work, so maybe Im misunderstanding what has happened...
You have a PCM14 folder with your game, that is unpatched.
Then you have a folder where the contents of the newest patch have been "accidentally" installed instead of your correct game folder.
If that is the case, all you have to do, is copy everything over to your actual game folder, and overwrite things when asked. It should be a matter of selecting (hold shift and click on top and bottom folder/file) and then copying them over to your game folder, as everything should still be in the right folders.
Or is everything kinda just "loose" in one folder with the patch files? If thats the case, definitely dont do, what Im suggesting.
This is what it should look like: (PCM12 patch installed to an alternate folder)
(also there are a few files that didn't fit at the bottom of the screenshot, including the uninstall files)

Glad I could help. (hopefully anyway)
I just remembered why I did this, its because the patches always overwrite certain teams graphic files, that dont have licenses, so its a pain having to install a whole db again just so 5 or 6 teams have their official jerseys again.

I was wondering (haven't been playing the game a lot) but how does equipment work in career?
Will you have the bike in team colors at some point (how will this work?)
Or is it like: anyone who has a contract with e.g. Specialized will ride with the same frame?

Do you have the steam version? In this case, let steam install the patch.
If you don't have the steam version, the patch should find the installation folder of the game, or did you move the game after installing it? |

Anyone have any idea why they remove this small but very nice feature: favorites are symbolized by orange rider on the bottom panel?
I can understand that they are a small crew, that they do mistakes but I really really dont understand why they intentionally ruining something that just worked well...

No I have the regular version, but my autorun no longer works, so the only way I can launch is through the direct file which doesn't install it.

The installer of the patch should install it correctly, no matter if it will be started automatically or manually because it looks up the installation path in the registry.
But if you have moved the game or did something to the registry, then you will run into problems. Consider uninstalling the game and then installing it again (or was it you, who had such a hard time to install the game in the first place?) |

yeah, that's the reason i don't want to go down that road again. i finally got the game working after all.

I strongly doubt I'll be buying this game since I allready have the '13-version. I do have a few questions to those who have tried it;
- Do the sponsors know the difference between 11th and 25th? As in; finishing 11th is NOT "Top 25". In that case, winning should simpy be listed as "Top 198".
- Does the camera angle change to the "zoomed in" camera everytime you click on a rider from the panel? If so, can you change it? (PCM 13 is going in the fuckin' bin if I don't figure out to set the default camera to the "zoomed out" one).
- 30+ riders finishing on the same time on MO-finishes? (Missing out on a 10th place as a tiny, tiny team because 1 billion riders got the same time up Sega di Ala).
- Do you absolutely have to watch the last 2 kilometres in ultra-super-mega-slow motion, or can you still fast forward? Seriously, this is a big thing for me and being forced to spend an hour watching a sprint that's well and decided was the reason I stopped playing for months.
- Also, when you start your sprint , do you sprinters go start going slower as soon as you have them leave the guy they're behind? Regardless of how I organize it, the 2nd rider in my train always outsprints the main sprinter.

This. Gamebreaking experience in PCM13, tried to see a few videos but couldn't make my mind up whether it's still the same. Also I feel it happens a lot more when playing with low-level riders (~70 SPR ACC) rather than the Greipels and Cavendishes, so I wonder if that's still the case in PCM14?

Probably not the right tread, but ill ask anyway.
I have downloaded PCM14, and because Avast didn't aloud me to download the download manager, i had to download it manually. I installed the game, but when i now push the play button, the game doesn't start. A message occour; The program can't start because MSVCP100.dll is missing on my computer. Can anyone help me? |

If you have a problem like MSVCP100.dll it should be easy to find a solution using the forum search.
Cyanide has a support thread for such matters: https://www.cyanid...mp;t=16366 (apparently their site is down atm so either contact the official support directly or wait.) |

I'm afraid not. There's no Top15, for instance. However, if you have the goal of achieving a Top10, and you get a Top25, you only "closely miss" the goal, which isn't as bad as completely missing it.
- Does the camera angle change to the "zoomed in" camera everytime you click on a rider from the panel? If so, can you change it? (PCM 13 is going in the fuckin' bin if I don't figure out to set the default camera to the "zoomed out" one).
There's a free camera which you can access with the F4 key. You can zoom in and out and spin the angle as much as you want to (using Alt+mouse/wheel) and it doesn't change when you click on a rider. It's the same in PCM13 btw.
- 30+ riders finishing on the same time on MO-finishes? (Missing out on a 10th place as a tiny, tiny team because 1 billion riders got the same time up Sega di Ala).
That happens very rarely. Well, at least not on the top spots. Further behind, you have bigger groups of course.
Spoiler €: To support the claim, here are the results of the two last mountain stages that I played, the first two stages of the Österreich-Rundfahrt:
- Difference between the first and 17th rider: 2'55, the 17 riders are split across six groups, the biggest of which consists of five riders. Then comes a group of nine.
- Difference between the first and 19th rider: 4'48, the 19 riders are split across 11 groups or single riders, the biggest of which consists of four riders. Then comes a group of 21.
I have to add that I did some pacing on the climb and I don't know if the results had been the same if I hadn't, but I think those are still pretty decent results.
- Do you absolutely have to watch the last 2 kilometres in ultra-super-mega-slow motion, or can you still fast forward? Seriously, this is a big thing for me and being forced to spend an hour watching a sprint that's well and decided was the reason I stopped playing for months.
I think it only goes to slow motion for the last few meters, so you have to endure that for maybe 10 seconds or so. Before and after, you can go on full speed if I'm not mistaken.
- Also, when you start your sprint , do you sprinters go start going slower as soon as you have then leave the guy their behind? Regardless of how I organize it, the 2nd rider in my train always outsprints the main sprinter.
Works fine for me in PCM14. Sprinters with weak acceleration may take a little longer to overtake their leadout but in general, that's not a problem. I've taken a few very well executed sprint wins with Ciolek and Sbaragli as his leadout.
I hope I could help. In general, I think it's a really good game which is playable already after the first bigger patch. Then again, I have a rather high tolerance when it comes to minor dissonances, but I really think PCM14 has a better gaming experience than its predecessor.

I'm with you there. I think Cyanide got us a very good game too, after the latest patch.

The only reason I don't have PCM 2014 yet is that stupid sprint bug

But when you say 'weak ACC', does that apply to weak sprinters with weak leadouts (low-continental level)?

Well, there is this workaround for the sprint bug that costs you, like, 5 seconds per stage. If that's the only thing holding you back, you could use that until a patch fixes the whole thing.

No, I meant in comparison to his leadout. Then again, the worst sprinter I played with so far was Sbaragli with his 75 or 76 ACC. But neither with him nor with Ciolek did I have any problems in this area.

Doesn't work for me. I just tried it and had possibly the most infuriating sprint possible ... riders please stop overtaking each other and completely wasting your entire red bar before 3km to go ...
This is the worst bug I've ever seen in all editions |
