Blanco, this is just plain stupid. How come they keep crashing for the last 5 years and this time they take out Scarponi out of the GC fight? Cmon. |

They didn't take Scarponi out of the GC fight. It's not like they just crashed into him

Still, they're experts on crashing. |

Casar will not start tomorrow.
For tomorrow, Santa all the way. Hope he can pick up this win.

Gesink has oppened his crashing affairs
For once, Gesink did nothing wrong. It was Kruijswijk. Gesink did the best he could avoiding him. He barely even fell. He was back quickly and finished in the front group
Scarponi however braked to hard causing him to crash himself before he even touched one of the blanco's....
So, how funny it might sound. Gesink > Scarponi in bike handling today

Looks like I missed a decent stage today. I like others think Sky will be happy to lose the jersey, not that I believe it would have changed their game plan.
Hesjedal showing some intent, I get the feeling had this been the tour they'd have chickened out of attacking.

Hesjedal really showing his agressiveness and meaning.
Far better racing than I expected. Paolini taking it was not what I imagined. Hell, the whole last 40 km was unexpected for me.
RIP Exxon Duke, David Veilleux, Double Feature, and Monster Energy

Out all day and just caught some highlights from the bit where a mini Garmin train delivered Hesjedal for an attack with just under 30km to go. Did I miss much before that bit???
Not that there wasn't enough excitement after that point but just wondering if I need to trawl for some even earlier footage.
Also as a minor aside I saw Cataldo was way down - anything happen to him early on or just working then taking it easy? |

If the whole three weeks keep going like this it's going to be a cracking race, that's for sure!
Tomorrow should be interesting, a bit similar to today perhaps - hope Nibbles can get away or something else interesting like that

Real nice to see Hesjedal riding like that, but I hope he realizes it's 3 weeks and he should keep that in mind |

He knows what he is doing and has really good recuperation. In fact, If I'm not mistaken he was in an early break in the first week of the Tour where he finished 6th.

Hesjedal: “I’m not worried what other people think. Everyone said I couldn’t win last year. They got that wrong." |

Found the answer to my question about Cataldo.
Dave Brailsford quote:
"Dario [Cataldo] was ill last night he was up all night with an upset stomach so he just wanted to get to the finish."

You're right - he was in the break on the Cobbled stage to Arenberg.

Didn't expect the type of stage we got last night. Thought it was one of the best GT stages ld ever seen. Great to see the GC contenders go at it so early. Hesjedal made Sky work extremely hard on the descent. Would have like to have seen Nibali go with him, could have been a decent attack with the both of them their.
Top notch attack from Paolini. Cheeky Cadel!
Good to see Weening up there. |

I've heard a lot about BOUHANNI been the sprinter with the best climb abilities among the top sprinters but today he finished 19:31 after PAOLINI while CAVENDISH ho cant climb very good finished 8:27 after PAOLINI. Anyone knows if he crashed or something??? |

I loved the offensive ride by Hesjedal! He seems prepared and in much better shape than I expected |
