In all honesty, don't really see a problem with taking a selfie there in general, just depends what they're saying.
I don't see the need to post an image of myself at the location, no matter which I text I write below the image.

This discussion just made me come up with a crazy idea.
How about releasing a web page providing backgrounds for selfies?
So everybody can upload a selfie and then swap the original background with a "better" background. |

Reports here are all saying about 13 and now 5 have escaped, but the police aren't forthcoming with information (rightfully).
@Cycleman good to hear you are okay. I was at Sydney University all day so wasn't too far from it and apparently they were planning to possibly evacuate some buildings just up the road from us (like UTS). Such a weird vibe in the city today.

You mean photoshop?
Yes, just without having to know how to use photoshop and also providing the backgrounds.
For example there would be backgrounds for famous locations like Eiffel Tower, a fancy Disco in NYC. But also "hyped" locations like that Lindt Café in Australia. |

Great Idea! I would help you with that, if i wouldn't hate selfies so much...i mean...WHY? When i was in school, we had 2 girls, who were making selfies all the time...something like "We both got the same bad grade in math today! That's a sign! BFF 4EVAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA"
or "They evacuated us in the sports hall, because they think there is a bomb in our school. Will we all die? So excited!  DDDDD"

The siege has ended. The 'terrorist' was killed, but unfortunately as were some of the hostages. Prime Minister Tony Abbott says it's 2, so it's probably 3
EDIT: Low and behold, the official figure has been released and it is three

3 dead, 2 were civilians and the other one was the terroist guy. So Abbott wasn't wrong.

I hate Abbott as much as anyone in this country, but it actually was 2 hostages killed + the gunman = three in total. Hopefully the others and the policeman who was shot in the head will be ok, signs are apparently good for their recovery.

Offseason and Christmas Time. Plus too late for any big transfers.
Many won`t have much time at the moment.
