Nice to see AKA have the power to make it through despite a tactical error early. My bets have gone pretty terribly though.

Battle for the lead sprinter position is unconclusive, both Vesely and Hodeg out

Not a great, great TT by Würtz, but guessing the hills made him suffer a bit. Hopefully a bad, so that he can improve for the next round, but I have my doubts.

One heat won by Lecuisinier, one won by Taaramae. This is getting awkward ^^

Valiant effort from Kamna to get the top 10 there. Couldn't advance in the end, but seeing that performance unmaxed was very encouraging.

Pretty sad display by AKA there, but ultimately you have to be in the second wave of attackers in thse races to have a shot. Once he missed that boat, it was over.

Groenewegen still doing well. Always a bit too active in my opinion and struggling towards the end but also still qualifying.
For the final rounds he should maybe ride a bit smarter with more energy management. |

Halvorsen is very impressive here, which is cool to see. Nice to see the show go on, wondering if anything will change now that the heats get even better and better. |

Guldhammer with a fierce performance there! Wow. Unbelievable in his last peak race to win his RR heat against Lecuisinier. He played it really perfectly and capitalized on his hill, sprint, and acceleration for that type of finish.
He doesn't have a shot in the actual RR once there are enough 82+ guys to make the difference on the earlier climbs, but wow. Awesome victory!

Phinney establishing himself as a strong contender, road race gold might be one of the few missing items on his palmares. And he has a strong team behind him, Eastman perhaps saving himself for the next round.

Silvio Herklotz officially ain't shit Even if it's just a heat, what a special moment to see a Areruya-Bennett 1-2, can't say I ever thought I'd get the chance for that
Areruya is just nuts, always attacking and with a brilliant victory there, hope he can at least keep up the first part in the final and also hope he can do it after training this season. Amazing ride from Bennett too, he loves that kind of finish and came through very well when it looked like NZ would be eliminated!

11/06/24 - knockout said "Winning is fine I guess. Truth be told this felt completely unimportant."
