Dont worry Heine. We had to lose the KoM to allow Vosekalns to be the designated break rider following the TT. Evonik KoM hunt aint over yet

Great race by Marcos so far! Close to an upset stage win and extending the lead in the KoM. Pretty much know he can't keep it in the mountains but this kind of publicity is very nice! Thanks Aquarius for the reports so far

Amazing race from Howard so far. A man I've been chasing a couple of times in my MG career, so always good to see him getting a few results. Congrats tsmoha!

Glad I moved on from project Ciolek. Congratulations however to all the teams who enjoyed this stretch of flat stages more!
The time has come now. California and Liechteinstein were a great warmup. Bring it on!

Finally, these flat stages are through. Let's continue on to keep being mostly irrelevant.
Thanks Aquarius for these insufferable sequence and congrats on the stage tsmoha!

Good TT by Stake Laengen. A bit more of a time loss than I had hoped for Martin, but oh well. Still plenty of stages to come. Phinney in the lead, as expected. Will be hard for anyone to overtake him now, but I really like the way a TT like this sets the GC. Plenty of guys that need to be on the attack now, hopefully Martin will be one of them.

Eh.
Should help being aggressive from now on though, which we have to start tomorrow, on a finish that should see us aim for at least a podium.

The race is over for us here. Now we can just hope for some sort of luck through breaks.

Sorry for dropping in so late guys.
It's great to finally see Madrazo start a GT as the big favorite. Most dangerous challenger should be Phinney. This got confirmed by his big TT win, especially since there's another TT coming up.
But I believe Angel should be able to gain enough time in the 7 mountain stages that are still to come. Looking forward to what will hopefully be an exciting battle.

Man, what a slap in the face Phinney has just given everyone. He just needs to cruise through the mountains now.
Not perfect, but a good day for us with Intxausti faring well. Upwards we go now!

With the pregame now finished it is time to look at the GC fight. Will be interesting to see if Phinney is able to step up to his role as top favourite and whether Herklotz is already better than Madrazo (i think he could well be)
A Big Thank You To All MG Reporters!

Good enough time trial for Úran, did not have the illusion he would beat Phinney or even get close. Wonder if he can keep up with the favourites in the mountains.

Very good ITT by Kritskiy, now let's hope the favourites stay together during stage 11, because tomorrow's stage is one where Kritskiy potentially could loose (a lot of) time.

What a beautiful stage and an absolutely perfect ride by the entire team!
Ever since I saw the team working hard, I hoped for a similar strategy to the dominant AToC queen stage, and Herklotz delivered just that.
Even though Bol and Mager shouldn't come home ahead of Nerz and Arndt, our last finisher was 62nd today. Today should give plenty of motivation that this lineup is capable of great things.
Congratulations to Borges who played it very well and deserved the win for the help he provided, and Martin made a great effort to catch up too.
Tenorio seems to fight the public opinion of him so far, while Phinney never looked comfortable in the jersey. Alarcon in the meantime seems to threaten Hugo Boss' rankings hopes this season.
Time for the mountains, let's keep this up until the TT!

That was certainly what we needed from Martin. Great ride from him and climbing all the way up to 10th place already. Hopefully he can continue like that.
Really liked the team performance as well, with Iturria, Raileanu, Nesset and Stake Laengen all pretty high up. Bodes well for the second part of this race.

I'm starting to wonder if two GTs for Alarcon was a smart choice Horrible start here, no way he will claw back 11 (!) minutes for the win goal here.
Congratz gustav for a great win by Borges here. Also Herklotz looks set to continue his remarkable first season as maxed.

Its nice to see the race finally going uphill! Congratulations to Gustav on a nice win. I'm very pleased with Schelling so far, he is staying right where he needs to be to finish in the top 10-15. Great race so far, and it will only get better I'm sure.
