No further time lost, and one less guy in front of Kelderman. Gotta take that as a good day. Time to turn anger into power.

A massacre on the flat; glad Ginanni managed to come back. Shame Kangert lost time though. Pretty strange considering his 75 FL stat.

That was super anonymous from Beltran, which is slightly worrying for what's to come on the next two stages, as they seem to be quite a lot tougher. Hopefully he saved some energy there, which will see him be aggressive on stage 5 and 6.
The GC drop was always to be expected as well, but hopefully he can stay at least 8th during the next two stages, looking at the gaps behind and also the riders behind, compared to those in front.
It's Ponzi show though, congratulations, dev! That's a very decent GC lead too. Nice to see Bakelants perform as well for Grieg, while EBH is starting to become a worry for CrueTrue, as he's yet to convince this season. Must say I kind of get flashbacks to 2016. |

That was better! Very good ride from Bakelants. Not a surprise that Ponzi beat him in the sprint, so I'm satisfied with gaining time on all others and climbing up to 2nd in GC. Don't really think it's possible to beat Ponzi here, as he looks to be strongest.
A bit of a bummer that Raileanu lost some time, but hopefully he can do a bit better on the coming stages.
Congrats on the win, dev! Great start for Ponzi this season.

Sagan better saves this race somehow in the next two stages otherwise this race is quite a big disaster.

Yep... Quite disappointing opening to the season by EBH. I thought he'd be able to dominate this race, but that was before I saw the startlist. But even with tough competition, he simply ought to do better than this. |

Too bad no splits happened there, as 11th is absolutely stunning by van der Hugenhaben. Too bad he has a great day when nothing happens.
But one can always hope he can find something similar again later on

I appreciate a rather calm day like this with only few gaps. Michael Van Stayen's GC situation remains unchanged while De vreese and smirnovs are both inside the top 30 now and i would be glad if they could keep those positions.
A Big Thank You To All MG Reporters!

Thanks guys!
Ponzis fine season start continues. Very happy on how him and not atleast the team is riding, the boys look alert for sure! My love for Barbero and Ayala wont stop for a good while I think such gems.

Now that's the stuff I want to see from Bobridge. Probably the stage, that suited him best, so a 3rd place to gain some time is pretty good. He stays in contention for the Top-5 then, even though I don't have a good feeling for the remaining stages..
Phelan doing great to take the KoM-lead. We hardly pick up shirts like that, so if he keeps attacking and somehow manages to defend this lead, it would be really really cool! Dunno, if he will make it, but at least he seems to be amongst those trying to join breakaways and every points gained are good points.

Interesting race so far, but Trofimov not participating is really not good. Thanks for the reports.

Ponzi still going strong. He looks rock solid so far. Congrats dev.
Really tough on Roman to see Sagan so far from scoring places.
Claeys ahead of the pack is actually interesting. There's some spark in him after all.
A word for Tamijo and his brilliant reports. Thanks for your work, mate!

Another decent race by De Bie. Like that he is attacking couple of times and not riding anonymously. Also the team support with Van der Poel and Bovenhuis seems to work with Thurau, Zardini and Gallopin still with De Bie at that point.
Though a bit afraid of Boswell. Can`t see how he can still be up there. De Bie really needs to gain time on him really. |

De Bie again up there but with less team support, which is worrying. Both Gallopin and Zardini with a really bad day even behind Bovenhuis, who was strong today at least.
In general too small gaps really by the look of the profile. Too many riders s.t. which makes every single time loss twice as difficult to gain back.
Boswell still a bit ahead in this super close 5-8 area.
Hopefully De Bie on the final hill stage can somehow gain time and pass those. 5th would be the maximum here anyway I feel with tose top4 being too strong. 7th right now feels like at least 1 spot too ar behind. Also I would love to see him having a better stage position for once. Consistency is nice but a top3 or top5 here and there would be cool.
Last but not least hugely surprised by how shit Sagan is here. |

Another podium, that's good. Not so good who took 1st and 2nd, with Bakelants dropping one place in GC. Guess he just came to the front too early when it ended with such a fast finish the last 400 metres.
Surpringsly non-selective stage before the last hill, but oh well. Good performance by Raileanu, climbing up to 3rd place in U25. With a selective stage on stage six, he should have a chance at making it up to 2nd place.
Same goes for Bakelants really.
Congrats on the win, CT! Guess it was good for Eddy to get a wind after a sub par start to the season.
