Pozzovivo going for another big ToA performance? Way to go, ofc.
The GC could become interesting with teams like Ticos or UBS looking strong enough to control the thing until the crucial attacks go. Mid-stage attackers might have a hard time here. Not sure about the TTT line ups, but obviously the stage will mix the thing again.

What a stage from Fraile! I have no idea where that came from, but if we can put the young Spaniard in yellow before the mountains... he surely has a shot to win this thing by wheel sucking like crazy and with Warbasse by his side.
Plus, the best way to get valuable points out of the ToA is the leader's jersey bonuses. As crazy as it sounds, Fraile's effort today could ultimately be what we needed to secure promotion.
Couldn't be more happier for a cyclist we have spent years developing.

Would have been funny if Von Hoff won the stage haha. Not super happy with the result but great to see Campero there about and good result from our young gun Schultz. Hopefully when we get to the higher mountains, Campero can start to move up the GC!!

Great rides by both De Marchi and Fraile here, but I'm also thrilled with Schelling's performance. I wouldn't have expected this to be a big GC day like this, and I definitely wouldn't have expected Schelling to put time into most of the GC riders here. Please, please, please don't get dropped in the TTT...

Another average stage from us, I expected more from Simon, especially looking at the top 5... On a positive side Krasnoperov didn't lose too much time, and is around the top 15 starting the mountain stages, after having filtered out some of the non-climbers.
Manfredi decided to lose time today, that's fine if he decides to attack in the mountains then, but in terms of the young rider jersey it's a waste. Hope he made the right decision. |

Oh boy, don't get me too excited roturn, please. Please don't get me too excited. Because if this is what Garby does with 70 hill, the mountains could be very interesting...
I'm not getting ahead of myself though. The TT is gonna be rough, and it's likely Garby just had a really good daily form day. Regardless, this day was absolutely key for the GC fight, and I couldn't be happier with the result. Seeing Veilleux and CAS doing a little dig was fun too. Glad it didn't come back to hurt Garby.

4th is a great result. Certainly a surprise because I didn't send a single TT specialist here. Since the next stages suit him, Krasnoperov might enter the top 10 even 
Grats to team UBS. Looks like Schelling might be a favourite now! |

Good things don't last. Not sure what I expected. Didn't think Garby was significantly worse enough compared to the others on my team to be dropped. A stupid example of PCM AI to drop a leader, but no one is spared from that, so what can I say? GC gone just like that. Gotta hope for stage results now I guess...

Glad the TTT had rather less GC contenders being dropped with heavy losses. Pozzovivo indeed in a surprisingly good position. The first tough MTFs will show if he can actually compete with the better climbers then. Schelling with quite an advantage already. The early losses for Berhane or Pinot could make for some aggressive racing though!

Just too much lottery potential for those kinds of finishes. But indeed, previous years were better.
Certainly down on where I should be at this point. Stage 7 will shake up the GC and really make the damage evident - its key that we see a good performance. Berhane has been worse than last season all year, that needs to stop right now.

Alessandro De Marchi, you legend! He has been absolutely brilliant so far this season, and has proved it here. The TTT is best overlooked, but hey-ho: we’re third! Well done to UBS, though. Excellent performance today.

I'm just excited that Schelling didn't get left behind, that's big for his podium chances! Thanks for the congrats guys, and thanks roturn for the stage. I sent a team to do well in that stage and it paid off.

Not the biggest gaps, but happy to see the three I'm cheering for the most here - Barguil, Pinot and Garby - fighting for the stage win. Real show of class from Garby to bridge over to that group. Nice win for Barguil and Ticos in the end, could easily be the first of many here...

Really needed that gap to accelerate, not to shrink and for Berhane to flop in the sprint. Now to see if the next stage can be the one to reveal form of previous years, but I'm doubtful.

The easiest MTF in this first ten days. But indeed the guys attacking, who need to do so. Glad they got a gap eventually. Barguil with a sign of what to expect from him here. Pozzovivo still strong - fun stuff, always some love for my former one-year prodessional  would love to see Berhane moving further up though. He is willing to do so!
