Beautiful! Pfft

When I saw that picture with a lot of Spotify jersey my heart beat faster but what comes after that is magnefic. Damn close to get the GC aswell but Im very happy with this race after that last stage!
First win this season, even if it only was a stage! Smile

Thanks for the report tsmoha!

Nope, Pelucchi couldn't bother with sprinting here.

Looking at the GC, Stuyven and Van Aert did really well actually, beating Van Staeyen. Not sure how much points they gained, but I do believe we won't go home empty handed thanks to some breakaways.

Great reports tsmoha!
Changed my sig, this was getting absurd.

Beating Van Stayen doesnt seem to be the bar for a good performance anymore Sad

Carlsberg continuing their incredibly lucky season! Massive result.

Also a very intensive close finish, congrats to Spotify.

Tough luck for our friend Guarnieri, but a win for Ahlstrand is also great to see. Congrats Viking!

Also big congrats to bbl (though it seems like he doesn't know he's racing here) on a fantastic result for Appolonio.

Damn it, this hurts. In pole position and then not even on the GC podium in the end, that's really too bad and actually a major blow, although we all knew it'd be a bit of lottery there. Gratz to the winners. At least we got some points still but it could have been more after the previous great performances by Guarnieri on stage 2 and stage 3. Still, with a win and some nice rankings, I guess we can be happy. Hopefully the trend continues.

OH MY GOD I DIDN'T EVEN REALIZE I WAS IN THIS RACE!!!!

APPO IS MY SAVIOR!!!!!!!!!!

After stage 1 I was like wow, that's a nice job. But after stage 2... I almost had a heart attack. He is such a god holy crap.

Stage 3 wasn't as great, but still he was in the mix and Bertillson with a decent job getting him back in position. Steensen being active is nice too.

Stage 4 was with another break by Steensen which was nice, and Appo again with a solid result. Never outside the top ten at this level is beyond amazing.

We end here with a top 5 GC, a stage win, and and top 5 in points. What a race. I couldn't have asked for more. I forgot about PTHC to the point I didn't even realize this happened without computer access. Insane. Thanks so much for the reports and congrats to everyone who did well!

Hmm, that was a bad final stage. To finish outside the top 10 costed another GC position. 7th is OK I guess, but having both 2nd and 4th on stages I had hoped for 5th or so in the GC. The sprinters were all over the place though making it very close.

Coquard easily winning the U25 competition and a lucky 15th in the GC from Piccoli weighs up though, so we end up having a pretty good race, and seeing as this should be our worst PTHC race after the cobbled one I think we are in a pretty good position.

Congrats to Aegon for getting the win in the end Smile

EDIT: I guess this will make us be ~100 points behind Moser, which is very good at this state, but the 4 races to come (where we only race 2, while Moser race 4 I think) will make me lose 800-1000 points to them:

300 points in Ronde
300 points in Paris-Roubaix
200 points in E3 Prijs
? points in Vuelta al Pais Vasco

There go our chances of keeping Aegon behind this season. Congrats!

Very selfless of MvS to allow Demare to catch up again Wink A very Ciolek-esque race for him...

So winning the GC without a stage win and not even top5 on every stage. Wow. Didn`t expect this before the race but every stage basically was different.

Win Goal successful, which makes this race a huge success even though a stage win was normally expected.

Seeing the AI changed the leadout order again is weird. Also how can he have the best position and yet again wait until Ahlstrand is passing him just to start his sprint from best position and end up in 2nd due to his 100-200m long waiting.

Note to myself to probably get a better last leadout sprinter for this bit extra pace. Groenewegen is good for this but would be a waste of race days. Wonder though if the duo could have delivered the GC win and another top10 due to bonus seconds.

Thanks for the reports, You really got me there until the end.

Job done even better by Debesay in the end.

Very interesting GC fight for the top sprinters throughout too. No cameo from JVH, but realistically was his least likely race to do so anyway.

Very good race from Petit, 8th in this field is really good and the decent stage results help a lot as well. Add in Turgis getting a solid GC thanks to being in the final stage break and this is a very nice race for us indeed - made even better by some great reporting Smile

Will Degenkolb finally perform according to his stats here? Obviously, with very tough field here, it won´t be an easy task to shine, but I can´t be happy with less than overall podium and stage win(s) Wink

Stage win & overal podium achieved, but I´m not happy at all. In fact, I feel frustrated Pfft as one of biggest chance to win ANYTHING this season is gone. Once Merino Criado suffered an injury in stage 3 (I think it should be mentioned in report as quite important event) and our sprint train was destroyed, Dege had to sprint on his own. 7-7 in last stages is not clearly enough for 3* favourite. Of course, it could be much much worse (MvS..), but still Wink

Congrats roturn and viking, thanks tsmoha for fast reporting.

Close final finish, good to see Aegon get up in the end. Le Roux surprisingly with a really good race, considering he'd be an average at best domestique at CT level.
Thanks for the reports!

I totally agree. Sorry for missing out on this.

Well this was probably our best showing in a PT race. Er Rafai was very active with 3 breaks in the 4 stages, but sadly we couldn't come away with the KoM jersey. This race needs some more classified climbs to make the breaks much more worth it!

Congrats to roturn on the GC win and thanks for the reports tsmoha

Very dissapointing final day for Maksimov. Went from fighting for a podium finish to slipping out of the Top 5. I'll certainly take the points given Maksimov's streaky past, but not too pleased.
