Very strong performance from Gusev, hard to predict the outcome of the upcoming itt, especially after a hard cobble stage.

Very very invisible from Sütterlin...
At least Kelderman did well, but it's still 5 minutes to the Top 20. Tinkoff and eBuddy will score too much for my liking here.

Trentin falling heavily, as expected. Had hoped for a better TT from Wisniowski, but at least climbing up to the top 10. Looking forward to the hilly stage now. Wisniowski, Trentin and Juul-Jensen all in good GC positions, and should be able to get even higher.
Our best team performance by a mile as well, sitting 2nd in the teams classification, only a second behind.
Will be very interesting to see if Kluge can hold on now. Thanks for the report, trek

Pretty much as expected, Kluge should have this.
Bagdonas with a great race so far sitting in eleventh place in GC !

That was a very nice stage. We obviously came with the ambition of winning the timetrial from Coppel, but Vlatos also performer after a very long absence in timetrial results. We had some very good results in the TT in general, but unfortunately all my riders except for Tom David lost a ton of time in the cobbled stage.
Tom David gained time on most competitors which is very nice. If he can perform well in the final hilly stage he might even get that GC top 5!
But now it's time to see if another greek rider, Tzortzakis, is up for some fun.

I had no idea how weak most of top 10 riders were in time - trials. Sinkeldam and Van der Velde could both be in the top 10 even with a chance of a top 5.
Walsleben will fall out of the top 20, but hopefully Gerts will be one of the riders that will gain some places after the last major stage remaining.

Pretty good time trial by Kristoff, now to continue the trend and perform well on the upcoming flat stage.
Congratulations, SotD! Big 1-2, where only Coppel was expected, really. And Kluge keeping the lead could prove key for his overall placing, as it should be safe to assume he will give it everything on the key hilly stage. Though, GVA is still the big favourite for the overall win, but Kluge looks good for at least a top 5 now.
Thank you for the report, trekbmc! |

As expected: that was bad for my team. Polnicky losing really a lot, the question is if he can survive that hilly stage with a reasonable gap.
Congrats SotD, always like to see my former star Coppel winning!

Disappointing not to get more of a selection on the hilly stage, I thought this route could suit Kwiatkowski well if it did. One more chance to make a selection and climb the GC. |

Good old Gusev, what a stunning performance! Really big time gaps in this ITT, but it will be hard to defend his current 2nd GC place with 3 difficult stages left to ride.

Very strong sprint by Tzortzakis, but it's always sad to see a win go like that. Congrats to Metinvest though for a great result.
Now for the difficult and race deciding final hilly stage. That is going to be intense...

Can't celebrate Van Poppel's sprint because of Van der Velde's crash. Second year in a row this happens. Hopefully this time he didn't sustain any injuries.

Well... every podium result counts! Still not ideal to see us losing to Festina even in a sprint... but still a nice result for both Howard and Vesely. And PT title will deservedly remain in hands of the best team.
Also nice to see a Czech rider winning in PT. Congrats!

Looking at Kristoff it's just another result to continue the misery this final part of the season has been
Surprise win by Hacecky, congratulations Avin! Thank you for the report as well, trekbmc, definitely very tense and enjoyable final five kilometers with all the text and pictures. |

Woohoo, great win from Hačecký, i like how we are able to win stage here and there in recent weeks, even without Pluchkin in the race. We are rarely successful from the breaks, so this is super sweet, even more when Grosu sprinted home 4th, perfect stage for us.
Overall in the race, we are in much worse situation, but at least Nolf is fighting for top15, shame about time he lost early in the race, he was very strong in the cobbled stage.
Thanks for the congrats guys and thanks trek for nice reporting all the way!
