the positive: we've got a mention
the negative: we've only got it due to a crash
the neutral: the crash helped us claim the lanterne rouge
A Big Thank You To All MG Reporters!

Fun to follow Nesset's riding as a "captain". Another solid mountain stage performance, and just outside the top 20 looks to be his place in the overall standing here, if no riders in a breakaway pushes him down on the final mountain stage. Congratulations on the win, Crommy, Taaramäe is difficult to beat when he's like this.
Though, the fight for the final podium spot looks interesting, as all three should like the upcoming MTT a lot. |

Again pretty underwhelming stage by Madrazo. He should at least have finished with the first two. Now he's going to have to fight for a podium spot.

Ruijgh is having the race of his life it seems. Novak kept his position, White Campero gained a bit. If it wasn't for the huge time loss on the hilly stage, he would have been in the top 20, which bodes well for the future.
Now I have to hope for a strong TT from Novak (especially) if he is to keep a top 20.

Keizer up in 9th.
MO stat wise where he is supposed to be. Though still not that happy seeing his huge loss after the TT gave him a big advantage.
That said, Bennett is making up for it. Not really weaker than Keizer on the climbs. 15th for him now. |

Madrazo is such a looser for 85 climber.
Thanks for the report Croatia14!
Our young guys tried, Tanovitchii in the break and Dzhus+Sosnitskiy attacking top30, that is probably the most we can hope for.
Congrats Crommy.

Just catching up with the fun, but seriously that stage 4 was awesome, best report of the season so far imo! Scared to start reading the rest, because it will be hard for Kritskiy to stay on the podium for sure.

Didn't see that one coming! Game on now between the top two, the last stage could really be a great one. Thanks for the reports, croatia!

Well done, Croatia14, on what was always going to be a difficult stage to report without intermediate checks.
Also a crushing win by Madrazo, finally. Congratulations, DD!
Very pleased with Nesset in 16th on the stage, which means he's now challenging even for a top 20 overall. That would be cool, but also the gaps down to those just behind him are small, so it should be an interesting final stage.
Speaking of which, Taaramäe must suddenly fancy his chances, though, 29 seconds means he'll need a gap, and I'm not sure how gap-friendly those downhill mountain stages are, eventhough the one Arndt won in Suisse was one of those that gave huge gaps. Hopefully he at least tries, meaning Phinney should at least be tested. |

Hmm, really need another superb stage from Velits to move up to the podium. Not loooking particularly likely though.

Bad won't cover what Novak and Campero did here. Dreadful, awful or even worse. Both losing spots in the GC. Novak completely fucked it over here. What a crap rider he has turned out to be...

True indeed, pathetic performance from Novak...40th place for 77MO/76TT guy is terrible. You can send a thankful note to Cyanide for releasing such a crap engine with random TTs - for the reference, the guy from AKER - Sigurd Nesset, who is 78/69 was 24 places better...and almost 1min 15seconds quicker.
From Metinvest point of view, nothing great, but nothing terrible, just what we could expect from our young climbers.
Thanks for the great report Croatia!

Finally some fire from Madrazo! Podium is in sight now; one more good performance can save his Dauphine.

Thanks for the reports. They were beautiful.
Ruijgh - legend.
His reaction when he finds out he won't be selected for the Tour de France:

Taylor Phinney you god amongst men and wtf was that ride from the lvl 4.54 Bonnin insane to have only 6 left on his wheel during the original chase obviously he's not strong enough to chase Madrazo etc... but still
Thanks for the great reports Croatia nearly had me throwing stuff at the computer halfway through to utter elation at the end perfect report! |

Ups and downs. The best part of the race clearly he reports. Great job Croatia!
Stagewin and a 2nd place is better than anticipated, he GC result worse. I guess they pumped their veins full of led instead of the good stuff. Campero should try to attack sometimes. He have the perfect stats for it. And Novak should just try acting his stats...
Now for the most important race of the season for us. Cant wait!

Wow, epic final stage, great report, Croatia14!
Had a tiny hope of Nesset joining the breakaway and steal some GC placings that way, but still another solid ride from him. 22nd overall doesn't give us any big points, but we came here with absolutely no expectations, so it's more than fine.
Congratulations to the winners! Pity for DD that Madrazo decided to prove his greatness slightly too late, but what a save from Phinney. Truly entertaining stuff! |
