Not bad from Bibby, 1 second shy of 4th so I hope he goes for it on the final stage - though I feel bad enough for Aidan as it is
Gallopin and Sisira have managed to put together a good half of the race each, just a shame they couldn't make a joint effort as it looks like they won't bring me any points. Now just to try and avoid screwing things up on the final stage. |

I know how it is to report race leaders crashing... Intxausti in Catalunya springs to mind.
Sad that we couldn't get a Ricco vs Cunego fight in the last kilometers, would have been exciting. Still, congrats to hoekie! Cunego's consistency finally paying off in the best of ways I guess.
Oh and huge grats to valv for Kinoshita's great solo win. That's 1.5k in the bank for me too, just one more reason to be happy about that after your tour was not going as you wanted!

Imo Cunego had won the GC anyway here after his attack.
Though Ricco not only losing the lead but also the podium this way sucks. Really unfortunate.
Then again Meiji with a big nice move here in their home race. Stage win, podium and 3 in top10 ! Not bad. |

Not much else to say than congratulations to big winners here; valv, lls and fj. You all had amazing races

Great to see valv and Meiji doing well here. These hilly stages have been brutal! Great race!

Cataldo claims to be on par with guys like Valls, Bibby, Meintjes or Ji in this kind of stages. Losing at least two minutes to each of them is as disappointing for him as it is for us.
Gratz to Meiji and the Japanese, was about time for the home win!

Ah another crash, that really does suck. Would have been interesting to see the finale without it. Kinoshita showing his dominance is great though, I hope to see more of it. Also Cunego has still got it! Comgrats fjhoekie. Thanks for the report too roturn.
@matt Our team doesn't even need to crash to be shit, the AI makes sure of that.
9 fucking minutes. Unbelievable. I hope eventually there'll be a race where you know, the team will actually ride properly. Only races that spring to mind so far are were we finished 2nd, a couple of classics and Romandie were Intxausti was not very good (good example of a stereotypical bad race most leaders tend to have every so often, fair enough.) Everything else has been terrible. Even the second place with losing the jersey on the last day (no disrespect to Aidan of course). I know everyone tends to have a spell with bad luck, but fuck me it feels like I've had half a season of it.
Sorry for being a bit lothsome.

What a performance from Prades and Tamayo Martinez. It looks to me like they absolutely tore apart the field in that stage. Stages and races like this is where my depth pays off. Hopefully the final stage makes no changes to the GC because this could be a massive race for us!

It's disappointing to lose the KOM lead, but Othman gave it a go to try and defend the lead he took into the stage but simply wasn't strong enough to hang with the break and collect enough points again today.
Although it is disappointing I can at least be happy that he made an effort to try and defend even if it wasn't enough as at least he didn't just sit in the pack and let it get taken from him without fighting for it.

Wow what a stage, that was amazing, and a massive recovery from earlier in the race too! Kinoshita is just so good, and Hatanaka had a great day too.

Makes sense Reinhardt is the only one able to beat Itami. Having Aregger just behind the two fastest men is quite an achievement and a conciliatory conclusion for us.
Gratz to UBS for the stage- and to the Ukrainians for the overall-victory!
Enjoyed reading all the reports a lot. Thanks for the great job done, roturn!

Well in the end this race hasn't been quite as bad as it looked it was going to become for the home team, 2nd place in the last stage is bitter sweet but then Kinoshita even gets a 5th as well as an incredible 3rd place in the GC. 8th and 10th for Ji and Hatanaka, the former should have been higher really but then again it doesn't get much better than 1 on podium and other 2 in the top 10. Congrats!
And congrats to Bushwackers for Reinhardt in the last stage!

Finally, after one very decent season in the CT, two quite painful PCT years and a pretty damn promising start of this season, we won our first ever GC! I hope this will be somewhat of a turning point, allowing us to win more of these in the future, perhaps not with Cunego anymore, but we'll see. He still has a few chances this season.
Also, 3 guys in the top 20, pretty damn amazing.
Thanks for making this happen roturn!

Nothing else to say than thanks for the reports roturn, good stuff covering it all so good!
This race gave us nothing. Congratz to fj again though, Cunego with a killer season so far!

Another decent result from Pozdnyakov. For the rest a disappointing GC because Rodrigues seems to have about 65 HI instead of 73. At least the few minor points we picked up are good.

Valls finishing 2nd here is an absolutely fantastic result for my team given other results he has got in hilly races. 22nd, 23rd, 25th and 26th in GC will also score points. Overall it's been a good race for Euskaltel. Thank you for the reports!

Congratulations to fj on the win and thank you for the great race roturn.
Although Schelling didn't get top-10, 12th overall is not bad for this stage in his development. I expect next year he'll be a top-10 GC guy regularly.
The highlight for me has to be Reinhardt. He's been pretty hit or miss this season, but when it's a hit it has been a home run.
