That was a disappointing sprint from a great position, and Lander didn't even try to defend his jersey. Oh well, at least another couple seconds to separate from the TTers.

Great win for Kennaugh here though, surprising 1-2!

Swift could be in for a lean year as usual SN cashed in his chips, looks like roturn is the suckling this time. Reading the report I had eerie feeling Frankie's monster was going to party on Avin's butt but I could almost hear Avin screaming at Guardini all the way to finish.

Why/How is Kennaugh a sprinter, was it due to some track guys sprint sort of assumption?

If I remember correctly didn't he win some Italian Race from a sprint in like 2006/7 when he was a U23 i'm guessing that's where it came from

From RBC well Mclay was 42nd that's good i guessGrin

EDIT: Found it 2008 https://www.procyclingstats.com/race/T...nelli_2008 obviously not the best bunch sprint but I guess at the time would have looked like a bunch sprint

Actually Bewley had one, unfortunately for him disturbed by Kenaugh and one of my domestique Grin

I can live with 4th place in this stage, but it´s necessary to improve our position when sprint begin tomorrow! Also keeping yellow is always nice bonus for team.

Congrats to CT for unexpected win. Terrible day for Festina. Thanks sgdanny for another great report!

Ok, now I get why the Vanderbiest/Kennaugh swap wasn't of interest to CrueTrue... Pfft

This is amazing, we keep making a train for some inexplicable reason. Grin Vantomme performing more reasonably today though, or perhaps it was that our train was catching the wind as Pokerstars had the same problem.

Congrats on the win CT. Smile

Netia again with a train Shock

VS improving already. Not too far away from the podium!
Slightly disappointed that the rest of the team finishs so low though.

Very sad about the crash. Thought it would be Dakteris, Bagdonas or Meersman cause of no mention of who it was but Stoltz (78 PRL , 78 FL) is a lot worse as I had hoped he can pull a surprise GC result here. Now I've got to hope that he will attack on a stage.
A Big Thank You To All MG Reporters!

Nice report, sgdanny!

Degenkolb 4th out of a 'lost' position is most impressive, though.

Coquard losing time was the most dramatic thing that could've happened for him. Now he'll have to get his money's worth in a direct sprint, but don't see that happening in the remaining stages.

Could Guarniri and Cavendish take back enough time in the TT to contest for the win, though?

I remember Goss as a World Champion. One of my first memories from the ManGame.

I guess those days are behind him? Pfft

You have probably mixed up Guarnieri with Guardini. The second one finished 2nd today, but is miserable time-trialist (sorry Avin) Smile

No I almost mixed them up Pfft but then I saw Guarnieri (not Guardini - who has terrible prologue indeed) is less than half a minute behind, along with Cavendish. Unless I'm mistaken. Will check again!

roturn
Wow this is a lot worse than expected... Twice no train for one of the best... At least a few seconds but this must improve...

tastasol
Had hoped to see Guarnieri climb upwards, not downwards! Still a top 10, so a decent result. Guardini and Kennaugh showing that it's possible, so just have to keep hoping!

Kennaugh often has some very good races when you don't expect him to - with training (if im not mistaken) those may happen much more often.

Was surprised to see Kennaugh win a sprint before I took a look at the DB, very much unlike real life he is a really decent sprinter.

EDIT: Also would someone like to tell me how the hell that happened:lol:

Happens pretty often actually when riders get added too early and mg statmakers mostly do guessing work on them. Same happened for Polanc, for example.

I didn't expect much from Boeckmans here given all the other sprinters, but I would like at least a couple of top tens. He didn't even sprint the first time!

Very nice reports so far, thanks.

One of my favourites has to be Kittel as a beast Time trialist.
