Not ideal - but a good battle is developing here between Cancellara and the hilly guys.
The TT is key just how much time can the old warrior put into the other oldie's. Then it is a matter of the game of chess on the last hilly one.

Brilliat effort by Bystrøm, just a pity it didn't pay off. But really cool to see him up there with the best puncheurs (at least in this race).
Definitely the wrong day to put Gjølberg in the breakaway, had hoped for Dyrnes, Bystrøm or Bugge, but Gjølberg is still better than nothing.
Well done by Ginanni to not only force the gaps and take a lot of responsibility, but also win the stage. Congratulations, beagle, definitely deserved! |

Cancellara will need to pull out a lot of time in the TT, that penultimate stage looks tough!

Franzoi did alright on stage 3, getting back to that big chase group at the finish was good, and Zaini getting into a successful break on stage 4 has to be taken as a positive too.

Nothing extraordinary so far, did not expect much but at least like to see the team trying to get in the breaks

Having Jerome Coppel in the team you always hope to win the TTs, but 2nd is alright. Congrats to Fiedler :-)
Tom David lost quite a lot of terrain here, moving from 4th to 10th. He is still leading the U25 competition, though. So still some minor points ticking in.
I really really hope that Coppel will go ob the offense to climb to within the top 30, and I really hope that Tom David will stay close to his current position.

Solid performance by Gusev, entering the top-10 now, let's hope he can maintain his position the coming days!

Would've expected Spartacus to steal some more time here. Will be an exsiting end to this race
Great pace on the reports, really loving this season (apart from my results)

Nah, not too special from Ford/Durbridge/Bobridge/Olman! Had hoped for one of my specialists to do something in the TT...
Visconti with the expected loss, but still 2nd in the GC. He should be competitive in the hilly stage, but of course Schumacher is a real threat for both him and Spartacus. Can't say I'm looking forward to it, but I guess I have to

Certainly not the best chrono by Cancellara - clearly once again the conditions changed wildly at the end. It tends to normalise the results somewhat which means he didn't gain as much as I hoped. Certainly the GC is far from decided and I would say Schumacher and or Visconti have a pretty good chance of snatching it away. At least Fab has the leaders jersey for a bit.

The TT went way better than I expected. Still 3 riders in top 20, Sinkeldam only lost two places and we are now leading the teams rankings. And most importantly, Van der Velde could actually push for a top 5 now.

A very nice ride from Schumacher to keep himself in contention. I suspect the gap is too much for him to be able to win the GC, but the hills in stage 7 are bigger than the hills from yesterday and we've already seen some decent gaps. It should be interesting, thanks for the reports!

Just catching up...
Stage 1 - meh
Stage 2 - SEE?!!!?!? I HAVE THE BEST LEAD OUT TRAIN, LET ME HAVE A LEAD OUT TRAIN EVERY FUCKING RACE. /angry rant
Stage 3 - Showing his talent for next year, Blythe will be even better next season. Thwaites? He's maxed for next year. Another Luke Rowe style rider for Good Energy. Happy race so far!
Stage 4 - Spot on Caruso! He's been a bit quiet this season, so nice to see him get on the podium.
Stage 5 - For Blythe to remain in the Top 10 GC so far is more than I expected. Happy days! Thwaites in 20th is a great sign for the future too!
Great reports, so thanks for that!

Hadn't expected Gilbert to be that well-placed just after the TT so pleased with the GC. Just a shame Lutsenko wasted all his energies on stage 4.

Well done, Bystrøm, hanging on to that top 100 placing in the GC by 14 seconds
Interesting to see Cancellara struggle that much in a TT. Fatigue, or just worse conditions? Will be interesting to see what kind of effect it will have on stage 7, where he really needs to be at his very best to claim the overall win.
Somewhat unusual to see Fiedler win a TT with Coppel being one of those left behind. Congrats, fintas! |

We are all over the race - a bit sad to see Holloway struggle to get involved in the sprints but he is doing okay - ish.
Just that big hill stage - plenty that can go wrong there. Just rubbin rabbits feet that we cling on to the jersey or a podium at least.

Maksimov going beast mode again. What's gotten into him, this is truly MG history in the making. The only one that really wants this team to stay in the Pro Tour.
