Username: OZrocker (Doesn't fit the team unfortunately, I could create a better manager name)
Country: THE ALMIGHTY DPR KOREA! Nah, they're probably not good enough so I'll take Iran.
Justification(why you want it/Why this country should be in the game (if they are not): This looks like a fun game and I'm a bit of a sports nerd. I'd like to control one of the lesser teams and see how well they can do.
Iran should be there because Team Melli are the highest ranked team in Asia. We have a record most other teams in this region could only dream of (3 Asian Cups, 4 World Cup qualifications) and stars all over the field including Haghighi, Nekounam, Hajsafi, Shojaei and Ghoochanejhad.
Back-up Country (must be on list below): Algeria, Costa Rica, Senegal (any of these is fine)
Tournament Location (Where should it be held?): My vote goes to Brazil, it is a football loving nation and will be an impartial host due to their team not appearing in this World Cup. Iran will support an Australia/New Zealand bid if the final is held at the mighty MCG, site of our 1998 World Cup qualifying triumph.

If username is name of manager, I will change mine to Jurgen van den Proeka.(not real name)
Disclaimer- Most of my posts are me thinking aloud. And most of what I think is rubbish.

ok, OZrocker you're in with Iran meaning we have 9 teams so far.
@weirdskyfan
I don't mind what you use for usename and I can write that in game, just as long as somewhere I have your actual username so I can not get confused with it, especially with pms.

ok, We've got 4 bids, I'll allow the other two confirmed ones, Australia & New Zealand (Jandal and Cycleman) and the Baltic Nations (jihardy).
I also see we've got a slow trickle of players joining (1 or 2 each night) I want to get as many as possible but I also want to start, so I'm going to say this:
Entries will close in about 36 hours, I'm going to send out a couple of pms, so that we might have a few more teams. I'll close bids to host it in 48 hours and we'll run a vote after that. So the game will probably start in 3 or 4 days.

Wow, another great one, Jihardy you have 24 hours to do yours, although it would be good if it could be done tonight. Aside from that, we are still looking for new players, so come on and join up!
btw: For the hosts, I'll pick 4-6 bids and we will have a vote between them.

Wow looks great, didn't know you were working extra (the official stuff). How you didn't include Air New Zealand or Speight's or even L&P goes beyond me though .

11/06/24 - knockout said "Winning is fine I guess. Truth be told this felt completely unimportant."

It's fine, I only know what's in there now because they are bigger bucks than their Kiwi counterparts.

Voting
The bids to host the 2014 Football World Cup are in, we are onto voting now, here are the bids (for simplicities sake, I've only used 2 flag maximum, it doesn't mean anything really):
The Caribbean
Europe
Belgium/Ntherlands
Portugal/Spain
Australia/New Zealand
Voting will be open for 24 hours. You make a vote by listing your 3 most preferred locations, for example a vote might look like this:
1. The Caribbean
2. Europe
3. Netherlands/Belgium
This would give 3 points to The Carribbean, 2 points to Europe and 1 point to Netherlands/Belgium, once the voting ends I will tally the votes and the location with the most votes wins, in the event of a tie, I will decide the winner based on amount of first round picks, followed by second.
