Thanks, mede!
Oberösterreichrundfahrt (2.2 Europe Tour)
More ingame screens:
(Note: Screens are just from stage 3. Major parts of the first two stages are reused from the 2013 edition I made last year.)

Note: Stage is a convertion of the fantasy race I made last year. There are just changes to the skyline to make it look more big-city-like.
An ITT is added where the route slightly differs (without cobbles)

Tested out this Austrian stage race. It was a great joy.
Thanks a lot Margh Norway, you´re a rock.
Adding to the race I put my new "correct" classification file instead of the fake cont22.xml that PCM uses from Cyanide.
Much more cool.
No bonus seconds for one thing and different point system
Only sad that Cyanide never understood that the intermediate sprints sometimes have separate competition from the point classification at the finish line. So in this Oberoestereich race and similar to Tour of Britain, having Yoda Sprints and Chain Reaction.
Someone more than me keen on trying out my XML-file have not only the XML file but also some info (pdf) about regulations for this race. I have tested it and it works fine. It will be part of my later HUGE collection of similar "correct" classification files for many races.
For those not sure how to get this xml to work
Unrar of course
then copy the file t2_oberoster_class.xml to
C:\Program Files\Cyanide\Pro Cycling Manager - Season 2014\Xml\Classifications (it will not delete anything)
Open whatever DB you are using and get the races up.
Find the Oberösterreichrundfahrt race and then
it´s the gene_sz_classification_xml you need to change name for this race to the new t2_oberoster_class.xml
save and export

Thanks for the feedback, clamel. I'm happy you enjoyed the stages.
Just tested your classification.xml which is working like a charm.
Can't judge if it has any influence on the AI (e.g. when five riders got KOM points rewarded instead of three), but love the individuality added to a race.
Would be great to see your .xml's in one of the coming DB releases (FCD seems best suited).

That is the package I have been tested on, and I will agree that in some races I do think the very different setups of KoM and Sprints do indeed change the AI.
I have been very irritating on those HUGE bonuses of 20 seconds for winning stages in the shorter races. They are killers. Now this race is extreem (like US pro Challenge) having NO bonuses, but several other stage races have the lesser variants of -10,-6-4 for finish and -3,-2.-1 on intermediate sprints.
The biggest issue has been the issue of KoM points and what categories different races use. Then again one must check and see what categories the stage creators (like you) put in. Not always the correct I may say.
My package of american races are very imminent and then the rest will follow.

@czeslawkamil:
Thanks!
@clamel:
Hmh... I guess the only problem the stagemakers might cause is the need to make an extra .xml for every race!?
Looking forward to your classification files. Hope you'll upload them anyway (with cdb file) as I use the same DB.
@lollo:
Sorry, lollo. Don't get it, too.

And with Tour Bohemia another collection of those pesky cdx files goes away.
Nice work mate.
And ... No it´s only on stage races that the xml files pay a great difference, AND I will try to cover as many as possible. The issue is that stage creators look carefully on where sprints and KoM are placed and much more important find out what category the race organizers have put on the race.
That´s the biggest work for me so far finding out what points systems are used and what categories are supposed to be in a specific race. Roadbooks and in many cases regulations are posted on the internet, and in other cases some detective work will find other cycling website posting info.
Naturally, that´s Cyanide problems, is that in many stage races the sprint are separeted from the finish point classification, but that we can live with as long as the jersey are correct.
Another odd race is the Eneco Tour that have NO KoMs, but do have a different sprint apart from the sprint with bonus seconds. The Primus combativity (Black jersey) points along the route can be changed to KoM points in Cyanide world. This is as long as the stage-creator marks them out as KoM sprints separate from the standard sprints.
I stick to stats and you great graphics stage masters do your outstanding work and this will come out an improved game I hope.
However have in mind that Cyanides math brains are not the greatest. I have found out serious errors in calculating these points and posted (unanswered) this on their website. In 2nd and/or 3rd sprint/KoM on a stage the 2nd place cyclist can get "robbed" on 2-3 points that is "handed" out to the winner and 3rd place cyclist. Very strange indeed and very random.
One has to rack this up to imaginary judges that rule that this poor cyclist interfered in the sprint perhaps. Well it´s a game and nothing is perfect. |

Sad to hear that the awarded points are buggy. Didn't face this problem so far, but either took a closer look (just when testing your xml where everything woked fine). Anyway, thanks for the inside to your work, can imagine the difficulties with all the different races rules.
Checked the stages once requested and decided to pick just one. As they are all pan flat I took Himmerland Rundt, which seemed to have the most challenging route to set. Release will still take a while...

That looks nice. OK it is flat. Denmark only have some small hills and these are more criterium style. However for the sake of order it´s the pesky cdx files I like to scratch and get as many real races in....
I managed to DL some gpx on not only these danish (Thy,Skive,Himmerland) but also the two following norwegian 1-day races (also today cdx). However my old shit of PC can´t handle the fine 3D in stage editor. Then I myself haven´t grasp the fine tuning of creating a nice looking stage anyway. Something to learn I guess.
Got 2 gpx files on stage 2 and 3 on 2013 Alberta too. Today they are a mess with totaly missing stage 3 (I think) and not any KoM on either. Needs to be fixed in the future.
Obviously everything is there, DEMs and such since the "naked" route pops up in the stage editor, but then I am unable to handle the program. |

Endeed some very nice work! Denmark is not all as flat as here though, this is some of the north (ish) Denmark, it's quite flat, but we've got some very nice hills in the Central Jutland region
In case you get more time, and feels fore it, the other Danish UCI races in Skive and Thy would be awesome (They're flat too BTW )

@clamel: Can you link me to the gpx of the Alberta stages you are talking about? Had difficulties with most of the DEM-files in PCM 2014 and wanna test them. Maybe I can provide a quick light-version of the stage(s)...
@jihardy: Thanks a lot!
@Maddrengen: Thanks... and no doubt about the beauty of Denmark.
I even like making flat stages, but not without a break. Sorry,... so if I'am turning to Skive or Thy, than much later.

I got them from some website called mapmyride, DL the files gpx and opened them up in stage editor. Initially they looks to work, but then my PC just can´t work turning and zooming this memory hard program. To be honest I am not very good at graphics anyway, so I don´t really know how much is correct. I can see a "route" in the editor but now the hard stuff starts adding some sort of road and all else. That´s you I guess....
Hope you can make something out of it. The number stage 1 is of course stage 2 in PCM world, since the first stage is the ITT I think.

Ehmm... I didn't plan to re-make the whole tour.
Maybe you can track the stagemaker and ask him to adjust the wrong/missing KOM-sprints of stages 3 and 5?
Made a quick one of the missing stage 2 (stage 3 in PCM) without any fancy stuff.
This site: https://cyclingper...3-stage-2/ ...was a good reference to learn about the intermediate sprints.
Due to the known problem the editor has with circuits with less than 5km in lenght the finish is slightly different.

Thats great mate.
I just looked over the the website I found these links I found to mapmyride is gone.
www.albertapeloto... (last years race) now only points to this years tourofalberta.ca.
Not found any stage creator, but this will do 100%, and the 2014 tour was just made by someone else.
Heaven to be sure.
I just put up what I had, the decision was yours.
Once again many thanks. |

I did find the old Alberta 2013, hidden in the threads
Included zcts files and everything. Perhaps with a new PC I might fix up this and add them to your fine contribution
As I understood the KoM and sprints are fictious since the creator didn´t know what was correct. But I guess with your website I might fix them later.

Nice find! When you edit the sprints could you please correct the finishing border objects (stands, booths...) for each stage? You just need to untick "merge" (merge finishline) under border parameters.
