What about testing if there's actually a nationality bonus?

I have really enjoyed reading these tests, Kentaurus. Please make some more, as they really help to understand the game, making it even more enjoyable |

This would be interesting. Also test if value_i_nationalism (DYN_cyclist) does have any effect (the higher it is, the bigger should the nationality bonus be - I've read once that it's unlimited, though Cyanide doesn't put values bigger than 3 in the Off Release I think).

I was under the impression that value just changed the likelyhood they would join the national team for the world championships. But certainly something I can look at when I get more time.

I'd like to know what impact flat rating has on sprinting speed and energy bars (if any) |

When sprinting, only the sprinting stat is used (and the acceleration stat to accelerate) |

Equipment always had an influence but a very small one. Like in real life cycling. I mean, more races have been lost due to flat tires than because of aerodynamics. |

Ok, everything would be fine were it not for the unnecessary lies:
"These contracts will allow you to upgrade the quality of your gear to raise your chances to win the hardest stages of the game." - devblog
"Test, experience and adopt as many prototypes as you can and equip your riders with them; ignore this test phase at your peril, as it could have a detrimental effect on your team’s performance!" - official web site |

It's not only when sprinting, however, whenever the sprint button is active but not being used the sprint stat is still in full effect |

Do you know if the flat stat is still inactive at that state before pressing sprint button? |

If you do not hit the sprint button (and do not have the flashing S) then flat is the stat being used. (assuming road is flat)

So during the last 3km of a sprint stage a combo of flat and sprint is being used until pressing sprint button? And after pressing only sprint (and acceleration initially) count? |

There is no combo... it is either flat or sprint.

In previous versions of this game I was able to outrun sprinters with Cancellara on 99 because the combination of his high FL stat and having full yellow bar made him faster than sprinters with empty red bar. |

Brilliant thread - thanks for the great tests and discussion.
I'm still thinking about the Fighter stat.
I have a number of ideas about the effects about riders "being in the wind", although these are just theories (I have no real evidence). Please see below:
1: Riders displayed as being in the front part of the peloton (according to the little icon) take a very slight effect on energy (maybe green bar?) compared to middle or rear of the group.
2: Riders in the breakaways incur a penalty to energy (maybe green) due to increased exposure etc.
So, I would speculate that the Fighter stat affects the amount of energy attrition penalty from being in the break.
Again, this is just an idea. I haven't tried it in a controlled situation like Kent does, however I've used De Marchi and Gatto really well against good riders in breakaways. Might be on account of stamina or something by coincidence, but would be interesting to try. It would be sad if the stat didn't count for anything.
Any thoughts? |

Fighter is a stat for AI no? The higher the stat is, the more the rider attack?

It's definitely been assumed that way, hasn't it. But has it been confirmed by the developers? It would make sense to have a fighter stat improve breakaway performance; it might reflect spirit or "heart" of a break specialist (Voigt etc). Energy depletion was the one thing Kent didn't evaluate in the excellent tests. Would be interesting to see.
Also, can anyone confirm the effect of being at the head of the peloton? Being front rider is obvious but does it affect all who have the top little icon highlighted to say they're near the front? |

Yes, the usage for the fighter stat has been confirmed by the developers. |
