This is turning into a pretty bad Tour for us. Bad sprinting, no brekaway riders, not a single rider in any kind of classification.

A better effort from the team today as Opie even challenged for the win |

Which Salleh was in the break for me?
It's a shame Awang wasn't better positioned as he was gaining places towards the end so could have got a top 5 if he was behind one of the sprint trains.

Viiittoor! <3
Finally.
I should have taken Langkawi as win goal.
Great to see that Rodrigues could decide the first (real) showdown with a decent-ish AI between the three big climbers of the Continental Tour for himself.
I feel a bit sorry for Maloja and Iglinksi though, it could also have been the other way around between Rodrigues and Iglinski considering their stats. It doesn't seem like they can achieve their top 5 goal now. Looking forward to their next battle in the mountains.
Peilun Wu almost secured the young riders jersey, that's another great result for my team. |

I dont know why Fernandez didnt join attacks. He should have left Moinard. 10th in the GC is not enough.

Zurita very active nice to see with him having disappointed in all mountain stages this season before today. On the other hand I was hoping that Rubiano would be able to limit his losses but it seems that is not the case. Anyway, time to shift focus back to see if Forero can improve his positioning...

Good too see Arroyo finaly do something also getting 3rd in GC is decent, completing our goal atleast. Feel sorry for Maloja though, dissapointing ride by Iglinsky(bad daily form I guess?) when he failed to perform when he needet it the most. Also gotta say I expected more from my team, whats the point of having all those top-MT domestiques if they never get used? :/

I did think Losada would be distanced more so than he was, a strong ride by him today.
Two in the top 10 in GC, now a question of holding onto that and the potential for a stage win is always there if Manarelli gets a lucky run in the sprints. |

Sprint stage -- again Clavero badly placed with just a few km's to go, but this time he seems to have had just enough for 9th, and this is where I would rate him against the field anyways. Good for him.
Crazy Mountain stage -- A flurry of attacks, and in the end they created gaps. Feillu wasn't among the best here, but he managed to hold on to the large group behind, and I am okay with that. (You know, he would win more if he attacked )

Our Strong climbing depth has again payed off with us leading the Teams, It's just a shame we don't have that one superstar leader to go with it.
And as I thought when I saw the startlist our win goal was overly optimistic however they gave it a good try and I don't regret setting it for our home race.

Gutsy riding by Masuda, with a big handout from Ochoa Quintero he holds on to a podium place. Big respect to our team captain in riding his heart out for Masuda in a role reversal - that is how you win respect from your team for the rest of the season!
Good work from the rest of the lads setting it up in the run-in to the final climb. Only downside is that we slipped down in the team rankings as had to focus on protecting Masuda on GC. Placing 2 in top 10 overall is a good outcome that we hope to take all the way to the bank now! A return to sprint central for the rest of the race, or will the BotD meet with some success? Looking forward to more excellent reporting.

Exciting reads even though it's our less successful race, yet.
Langkawi develops pretty much as expected so far.
Our young guys are doing their best with Schuler and Manfredi in scoring position and Schir once in a breakaway.
Fear Manfredi will lose time in the upcoming stage, because of the length. If he somehow manages to stay with the bunch it will be a good first reason to celebrate.
Other than that we have plenty of options for breakaways: Flückiger, Hollenstein, Lang... are all way behind and experienced and skilled enough to execute. Plus the next two stages are crucial for the KOM-competition, which is still up in the air.

Well, now I am just hoping for breakaways and at least 1 win would be good.

Congrats on the win for Sauber in their home race, nice to see a team win in their own country.
Manarelli gets another top 10, despite a bad position coming into the final. He could end up with another podium finish here with four sprint stages likely to come. Losada looks to have the polka dots nailed on. |

PCM is getting drunk again. Crosswinds and Awang wins?
Congratulations to Sauber nevertheless, always good to see home teams performing.

Good job by the team at keeping Rodrigues out of trouble. Our sprinter wouldn't have done anything anyways, so it is no surprise seeing him as one of the guys that were caught in the split. |
