I was wondering about this too.

I bought myself the big pack of cyans for 14 euro..
So now i have 5 gold riders, and an overall good team which I enjoy to play with, but allmost every stage I play, people comment on my riders, and it seems people dont like that some buy coins.

I thought most would buy some coins to secure a half decent team, but it seems most doesnt.. If i knew, i would rather go the same way most other does, and build up the team the way others are..

What do you guys do? buy coins or no?

I probably won't buy anhy packs. I think they are expensive, compared for exmple with Fifa UT, where you can buy packs for 1 euro.
Also, I hope that by the time I get the game, Cyanide will restrict the type of riders you use so I will only face bronze riders in the beggining (this was mentioned in the Open Bar and apparently wasn't implemented.

Actually there is something like ranks in the ranking system. At the moment everyone is rank 0 I think but probably the players with gold packs will soon be rank 1 or higher. Then there might be the possibility that they can no longer play against lower ranks.
At least I hope so as it would be more fun then.

You know what I find hilarious?

I won't be playing every hour of the day 24/7, therefore I have chosen to get gold riders so when I eventually play online, I actually have a chance of winning a stage. Though, that doesn't come without a storm of pre-teen frustations as a thunder cloud strikes you with golden slang expresssions like 'noob', 'lol' and 'omg'. I got told today by player, he called himself World Champion in PCM11 (he was very proud of it) - meaning you probably know the guy..? -, that I wasn't playing the game as I should. That I was a 'disrespected player' in the community of PCM.. Auch! - talk about a bad place to be! Being 'bad standing' amongst PCM-players! I better hide my IP-address, book airplane tickets and disappear for a while...

I got told that having bought a good team isn't fun - and obviously, he's right - he's knows what I find funny and how I would like to play my game that I've bought for my own money. I'm sure that 1 hour of playing in x1, watching riders go round and round and eventually ending up as 10th is absolutely thrilling.

Actually, though, don't quite think so.

I guess i'm a 'noob' then.

Bye.

In my opinion, you should have race where you could only use a bronze team and races where you could use players up to silver and open races. That gives you a motivation to have bronze, silver and gold riders. FIFA UT does this and I think it's a great system

wow just played a extraordinary race on armada mode.

I won, got 3rd and another 2 riders in the top 10 against fairly strong human teams. on the first cat 1 climb, I put at least 5 domestiques on the front of the peleton to set a pace at 78, yet they got a gap. So with this gap I decided to bridge the gap with my main leader because no one was chasing my riders down. On the final climb I had my leader with one other guy and 4 of my domestiques.

You're serious ? Explain why it's true ?

Those guys were right dicks there. If you don't play the game and you want to enjoy it - buy cards for money. Its' your own choice. Those other guys shouldn't care, it's not their business what he did.

They should complain to Cyanide for creating shit match making system so it matches players with gold Vs bronze riders Wink

I have to agree again, some people work or have college/ school ad are unable to play this very often to build a good team. I work 9 hours a day and weekends sometimes. I have a spare £20 to put into this to enjoy the game. It's not a crime and no one should feel ashamed or slightly intimidated for buying cyans. We are a community around this game and should respect each others actions and ways of playing the game. We may not agree with it but it doesn't mean they are noobs or a cheater or anything along those lines.

First at all, im not criticizing to the people that buys cyans. just expresing my point of view of why the advantage of buy packs is too much for be a not free game, cyanide/focus fault in my view.

it shouldnt be that big problem people buying cyans for the rest of the players that also paid for the game, but cyanide make it terrible unbalanced, you guys are talking as if buy cyans for compensate the lack of hours of playing, but for the moment its not compensating, its just destroying to the guys that not buy.

there are some reasons:

1. there should be a gold pack limit per day (i think one per day) to make it much more balanced races the first days, more balanced.. better for everybody, there should be not that amazing teams the first days.

2. the chances of get contador, cancellara looks too big. maybe its the same the chance to get contador than any other gold? i dont know but i expected that near nobody had them in the first days. but i was wrong

3. Its not true that FUT prices are good... the prices are much bigger than here in perspective, it would make a lot more difference spend here 100€ than in FUT, in FUT you can pay 100€ and the best you can buy are jumbo gold packs (625k valued of packs, very likely to be much less in market prices after selling the things of packs). xbox average price of the normal version of ronaldo its 400k (and it was higher at the beggining)... he's good but there are a lot of players that cost more. but here in PCM if you pay a good quantity you get the best riders easily. and its more difficult to get coins here than in FUT in other ways.

4. Also the lack of market its not good, because u cant get decent gold players cheap

I was thinking of a solution..

buying cards should be removed.

the coins you earn for racing, should decrease pr race pr day.

Lets say full coins on first race each day. Second race gives a little less, same goes for 3rd, 4th and 5th.

In the end, you only get better rankingpoints, no coins., untill next day when you will get full coins again..

this will give the players who are active more coins, but not make such a big difference between them and those who dont play that often.

They are really earning money on Armada (maybe that will make PCM13 ways better than this version?)!

Or will make Cyanide even more lazy because no matter how s**t the game they produced, people will pay, pay and pay more no matter how good or bad the product is Wink

It looks like PCM 12 is a good game, it isn't s**t, but the point is just emphasis.

And I don't see the money thing. If they wanted to iron few simple bugs like sponsors or create better matchmaking system for example - they would. Nothing to do with money.

Yeah, i agree it is fault of Cyanide, but for me who buys the packs for the real money is stupid moron, cant help myself.Wink

And why? Because they support Cyanide in actions with which we were all fucked up when it replaced proper multiplayer. Cyanide is showing the middle finger to us and those who support them in this dont have my respect. But say that to children...
I am sure i will buyquot the Armada mode completly, unfortunately there wont be many of us probably, so we will be screwed up next year again. In the end we deserve that.

I agree, buying the cards will actually make Cyanide more lazy then before in my view, as no matter how bad/good Armada is - they still making money no matter what.

But there are poeple who really want to enjoy this game and don't have much time to do so - and so they buy packs. Calling them 'noobs' for that is harsh and unfriendly.

And also, those people that write those kinda of comments, they're childish too in those game convos. They bought the game, they wanted to enjoy it even more with packs. It's their money. No-one from those poeple in chats should get involved.

I agree with that. I would not call someone a noob online because of that, but what i think about them is clear.
I am against all micropayments and dlcs in games, that is what i dislike the most on modern games. There were times when games main purpose was fun, but i cant help myself in thinking that today with the new wave of gamers and stupid people, the main purpose is moneymaking (i get hat, but i am not happy with that, everything is about money now) and competing who has a bigger online penis ( microtransfers, special cards, unique in game content, achievements...).

So i think it is not about people who dont have time to have fun from PCM (these who like it much for many years will play enough games to improve their squad). For me it is those who want to win and show how good their squad is (how big their penis is) who buy the packs. And those who dont know the value of money yet...

And Alakagom sorry if my words offend you, but you are way too much politically correct to my liking. When someone is an idiot, it is not bad to call him so, if you know what i mean (just an example, not talking about you or anyone else here)...

They don't offend me Pfft I would never consider buying a pack anyway ( waste of money ) Saying so - I can see why some people buy them Wink

The irony is also ( not in all cases obviously ) - those who were against buying cards and when they called other 'noobs' for buying those cards - will most likely buy them too later on Wink So that's why I find it quite harsh to call someone a noob or idiot. However I agree with your views mostly though.

I'm having some problems connecting to Armada.
I tested it 3 days ago, and it worked fine. Then i installed Lassassino Realname Database and now it won't work.
(I have tried replacing the local and OfficialRelease back to the original without luck)

Any tip?

Today, i tried some stages in the Armada mode and was positively suprised; well, you have to go in breakaways and the (AI) pack doesn't chase, so that is really unrealistic. But if you are upfront, the final kilometres are always really interesting.

btw: all the teams except one with Vanendert and Rolland were of about equal strength with some silver riders (got some too since this morning with the gift of 650 coins). Sure, Cyanide has to adjust several issues (after 1 race, I still didn't get any coins this afternoon) and the money thing can be annoying, but the mode itself has some potential.

roturn
Obviously it depends if the host has active or inactive AI picked in the options. Sometimes it`s easy to build a 30min gap and sometimes the AI chases down everything. Not sure who is the host and if this is picked randomly in Armada.

I also have some fun with Armada although it`s quite annoying that it happens pretty often that you get kicked out of the game while playing the stage.

And that you can`t choose the stage you want to play...Angry
