I gave the links to all the threads of the stagemakers in the first post Wink

Just after you answered Yves I saw you updated the first post, then saw this. It was in Daily's 2010 DB, but also in a FCM DB I had. Uploaded the later, because I think it's (supposed to be) 2011 stuff.

The second stage from Le Tour de Langkawi is coming up!

Pre Race

Kangar - Butterworth
173.5 kms

Trek-Livstrong

The second stage is categorised as flat but you can't find any flat kms on the first part. The up and down will certainly suit the attackers. Luckily for me and the other sprinters, the road flats out nearing the end.

The Race

i1199.photobucket.com/albums/aa477/Spilak23/langkawi12.jpg

A break of 10 riders had an advantage of 8' with 90 km to go. De Poortere, ALarcon, Toribio, Van Vooren and Scognamillo were just some names of the riders at the front.
i1199.photobucket.com/albums/aa477/Spilak23/langkawi13.jpg

There were a lot of riders chasing in the peloton. Mainly Landbouwkrediet let their domestiques work but they received help from again Fly V and Endura from leader Hayless.
i1199.photobucket.com/albums/aa477/Spilak23/langkawi14.jpg

They timed their chase perfectly and the escapees were about to get caught when passing a small town right after the 10 km banner. Williams, assisted by Jones, tried to follow the end of a sprinttrain but lost a lot of energy on the last small hill.
i1199.photobucket.com/albums/aa477/Spilak23/langkawi15.jpg

Williams had given up the fight for a good positon when with 5 km to go, a rider next to him crashed. Behind him everyone crashed, he and Jones were lucky to avoid the crash. They were hampered though and would lose 30" today.
i1199.photobucket.com/albums/aa477/Spilak23/langkawi16.jpg

The confusion, caused by the crash, was used by Honig to sprint away from the rest with only Dekkers in his wheel. They had a comfortable gap with 1 km to go when Dekkers made his move. It looked like nobody was going to come back.
i1199.photobucket.com/albums/aa477/Spilak23/langkawi17.jpg

But like yesterday, Dekkers was never able to shift to another gear and the others were closing. Hivert, Candelario, Kemp and Bonsergent all gave everything to come back.
i1199.photobucket.com/albums/aa477/Spilak23/langkawi18.jpg

Dekkers started fading and Hivert easily passed him. The French puncher took a rather easy win with everyone more as one bike length behind. He is also the new top favourite as no other notable climber was able to avoid the crash. Most of them are 3' back.

Justin's Take

Whooow, that was lucky. Hearing all the riders behind me crashing, I can say that I was very lucky to sit right there. Unfortunatly, a good sprint was never possible as I lost all my energy on the hill. Maybe more luck tomorrow.

See you then

Justin

In the exported results there is a column called "Player" after the time column. I guess Spilak accidently copied that column too when he copied the results to paste here.

And it's looking nice so far, spilak. Keep it up.

Thanks everyone. To avoid more mistakes, I came in 31th, not great but things will get better (I hope). baia and FuglsangxTH3, I will not go in the break as I believe I can get a result in a mas-sprint. I have enough teammates who can try their luck in long breaks.

Then..

Trek-Livestrong

i1199.photobucket.com/albums/aa477/Spilak23/langkawi11.jpg

The third stage is again flat. We want to get someone in the break in case the peloton takes a rest-day before the upcoming mountains. I will not join any breaks as I hope to get a good result in the bunch-sprint.

The Race

i1199.photobucket.com/albums/aa477/Spilak23/langkawi20.jpg

7 riders were today's escapees. Simes (Jamis), Matasyiak (CCC), Vink (Trek-Livestrong), Creed (Kelly), Valgren Andersen (Glud), Freitas (Barbot) and Geerts (Donckers).
i1199.photobucket.com/albums/aa477/Spilak23/langkawi21.jpg

They could create a gap of around 6' with 70 km to go. Then Landbouwkrediet and Fly V started to chase. Sending only 3 and 2 riders respectively, the chase wasn't as convincing as yesterday. Endura didn't send any riders at all.
i1199.photobucket.com/albums/aa477/Spilak23/langkawi22.jpg

The break could start the final 20 km, mainly downhill, with a 1'30" advantage over the pack. A promising gap..
i1199.photobucket.com/albums/aa477/Spilak23/langkawi23.jpg

Goesinnen (Drapac) attacked out of the pack under the 20 km banner. Endura wasn't willing to let him go and chased him back immediately. This brought the pack closer but when he was caught, the chase stopped and the gap got bigger again.
i1199.photobucket.com/albums/aa477/Spilak23/langkawi24.jpg

So the escapees could sprint for the win. Simes had to start in the worst position leading out Andersen, Matysiak, Freitas, Vink, Creed and Geerts. Vink was in a good position to start.
i1199.photobucket.com/albums/aa477/Spilak23/langkawi25.jpg

It's no surprise that Matysiak, who already won both the KoM- and intermediate-sprint won. Freits got 2nd and Vink sprinted to a 3rd place. Certainly not bad.
i1199.photobucket.com/albums/aa477/Spilak23/langkawi26.jpg

Dekkers led home the peloton 2' later. Good to see was that Williams finally could deliver a good sprint. He finished 13th, as 6th of the bunch.

Justin's Take

Good race by Vink. He looked like on of the strongest in the break but he isn't very fast at the finish. I was also very happy with my 13th place. Let's hope I can improve on that after the mountains.

See you tommorow

Thanks guys. It was indeed a better stage, both for Vink and for me. baia, I also hope I can win this season but I don't expect it yet. But it would be great if I could do it!

This is not a day for me. The last 50 km are almost all uphill so I will settle myself in a group of non-climbers. Eckmann might receive freedom to try an attack on the long climb as he is already far behind in the GC.

The Race

i1199.photobucket.com/albums/aa477/Spilak23/langkawi29.jpg

There were some attemps to form a break early but they were all brought back by the pack. Only one guy was in front when the long climb started. Kurt Hovelynck from Donckers Koffie - Jelly Belly
i1199.photobucket.com/albums/aa477/Spilak23/langkawi30.jpg

4 riders use the first steep slopes of the climb to join him. Baugnies (Topsport), Moreno (Caja Rura), Wren (Jamis) and Eckmann (Trek-Livestrong). Good move by Eckmann following a known climber like Morreno.
i1199.photobucket.com/albums/aa477/Spilak23/langkawi31.jpg

One rider had made the jump to the front halfway on the climb. Donald (Kelly) is the 6th escapee. Their advantage is over 4' but Wren felt he could do better and attacked.
i1199.photobucket.com/albums/aa477/Spilak23/langkawi32.jpg

The American continuead alone and started the ultimate climb with an advantage of 1'30". The pack had come a lot closer on the flatter parts and Bochmann and Cuesta were the first to jump to the chasing group.
i1199.photobucket.com/albums/aa477/Spilak23/langkawi33.jpg

Coming over the final top, Wren's advantage was still over a minute. He would probably win today. Behind him, everything was as good as together, only Eckmann still had a small gap over the others.
i1199.photobucket.com/albums/aa477/Spilak23/langkawi34.jpg

Tyler Wren took a great stage win after a good solo ride. He is too far to play any role in the GC. Behind him, Hivert passed Eckmann in the sprint to take 2nd. Mandri was 3rd. Eckmann was the only Trek-Livestrong rider in that group as 19th.

Justin's Take

Nothing was expected from me so I finished near the end of the pack. Eckmann did good showing the team on tv, too bad he got caught in the last kms. 19th is still a good result for him.

See you tomorrow

Did you suffer today or were you just saving energy ready for the next installmentFrown

I didn't suffer that much, I could easily follow the tempo on the first climb but that one was not very steep and had a lot of flat parts where I could recover. The steeper was a lot harder but there was no danger as it was close to the finish.

The second mountain-stage. I, just as my teammates, will just sit in the pack untill the climb and they just ride up at my own tempo. Resting for the upcoming days is the mission. Only Eckmann will try to get a good result.

The Race

i1199.photobucket.com/albums/aa477/Spilak23/langkawi37.jpg

The pack let a 13-men group go on the first part. They never could create a gap over 4' though. Some names are Delfosse, Capelli and Zirbel.
i1199.photobucket.com/albums/aa477/Spilak23/langkawi38.jpg

Drapac and Saur chased the break in the last kms before the climb. That didn't stop Cabreira and Bajadali from making the jump alone. They joined the escapees on the first slopes.
i1199.photobucket.com/albums/aa477/Spilak23/langkawi39.jpg

Three other riders used the first slopes to attack from the pack. Donald (Kelly), Cuesta (Caja Rural) and Romero (Jamis) could close the gap so there was an 18-men strong leading group.
i1199.photobucket.com/albums/aa477/Spilak23/langkawi40.jpg

Bessy and Joly then made a strong pace for Hivert and under when passing the 10 km banner, everything in front was gone. The Saur pace made a lot of victims but Eckmann could keep up at the front comfortably.
i1199.photobucket.com/albums/aa477/Spilak23/langkawi41.jpg

Donald then attacked again with 7 km to go. It splitted after the 6th rider and Eckmann landed in a 2nd group. Donald (Jamis), Joly, Hivert (Saur), Cabreira (Onda), Herrada (Caja Rural) and Romero (Jamis) are in front. Mandri, Marczynski and Wren are some of the guys with Eckmann.
i1199.photobucket.com/albums/aa477/Spilak23/langkawi42.jpg

Hivert then started making the pace and only his teammate Joly could follow. The second group immediately lost a lot of time and Mandri could jump in there from the Eckmann group.
i1199.photobucket.com/albums/aa477/Spilak23/langkawi43.jpg

Hivert jumped away from his teammate in the last km to take his 2nd stage win and the leader's jersey. Joly 2nd and Mandri 3rd after a strong comeback.
i1199.photobucket.com/albums/aa477/Spilak23/langkawi44.jpg

Eckmann outsprinted the other riders in his group to take the 8th place. A good result for him.

Justin's Take

My race wasn't as strong. I immediately fell back in the last group only 3 riders strong but luckily, I had a teammate with me. Parker helped me to loose as less energy so that I could do a good sprint tomorrow. Let's hope it worked.

Eckmann did good again taking 8th. Too bad he just missed the split as he was very strong.

See you tomorrow

Justin

It indeed didn't suit me at all.

Next are 5 flat stages. They should suit me and I hope to get some top 10s here. We also want someone in the break everyday to get the sponsor some attention and to maybe get some succes..

The Race

i1199.photobucket.com/albums/aa477/Spilak23/langkawi47.jpg

Dale Parker was our guy in the break of the day. He is joined by 6 others. Alarcon (Barbot), Ratajczyk (CCC), Capelli (Vorarlberg), NZ champion Vennell (Bissell), Lobato (Andalucia) and Crosby (Pure Black).
i1199.photobucket.com/albums/aa477/Spilak23/langkawi48.jpg

Saur just controlled the pace with a bit of help from a Glud rider. Nobody wanted to chase the escapees so they have an 8' gap with 60 kms to go.

None of the escapees though about a solo ride so they will sprint for the win. Parker choose the wheel of Vennell knowing he had already won in a similar situation this month.
i1199.photobucket.com/albums/aa477/Spilak23/langkawi50.jpg

But it was Crosby who took a surprising win. He beated Vennell and Ratajczyk with a half bike length. Parker had no chance for the win but finished on a good 5th place. The pack came in 5' later and some of the escapees jumped in the top 10.
