Well a couple of files would be overwritten, for example the race banners and rider pictures. You can avoid this by doing a double installation:

About the first question, don't know. I've only plaed season mode once, so don't know much about it.
And making a startlist for the GTs (or any other race):

Just take a look at comments #4 and #7 as well, the teams and riders names aren't needed (although 7 is outdated I think, you don't need 20 teams anymore for the startlist to work). You then save the startlist in the directory I told you and its name should be the race's gene_sz_variant_xml in STA_race. Additionally the PCM Fast Editor has a pretty useful startlist creator (and that feature would then be added in-game in PCM11). Lastly, you can open .xml files with the notepad.

Got a big problem with some sort of "dead riders". When I start a race all riders are out of energy and the gameplay is very buggy. Does anyone know how to fix?
