Cycling news from Norway. During an annual race from Oslo to Trondheim that has about 5000-9000 participants someone had thrown a bunch of tacs out in the road. Several riders punctured and nearly fell while doing 60km/t.
For those of you who speak Norwegian, enjoy the comments in the commensection.

There's a fine line between "psychotherapist" and "psycho the rapist"

German Olympic Pre-Selection :
Marcus Burghardt (BMC), John Degenkolb (Argos-Shimano), Tony Martin and Bert Grabsch (Omega Pharma Quickstep), André Greipel and Marcel Sieberg (Lotto-Belisol) and Christian Knees (Sky).
Degenkolb, Martin and Greipel are guaranteed a place basically. Two other places are for grabs.

Jack Bobridge and Michael Hepburn were arrested in Spain after being involved in a drink-driving incident.
CA found Bobridge and Hepburn guilty of misconduct, but they will stay on the Games team.
CA fined Bobridge $2500, with $2000 of the penalty suspended, and he is now on a 12-month good behaviour bond.
Hepburn is also on a 12-month bond and received a $1000 suspended fine.

In Britain, if he was arrested and charged with drink driving then that would also stop him from riding a bike on a highway as well |

No, it wouldn't? Because you don't need a driver's licence on a bike? |

But you still ride a bike on the public highway and you can still get done for drink driving whilst on a pedal bike |

Yes, but he can still ride his bike on the public highway as long as he's sober, can't he? |

Just checked the local police website and apparently you would be charged for being drunk whilst being a danger to the public |

I'm surprised Rogers was picked ahead of Porte for the TT, but I guess Rogers can probably help in the RR more than Richie...

They have been quite close in the TT's this year. Richie did a lot of specific training in mountains, and less on his TT bike so I guess they picked Rogers on that fact. Add to the fact that Rogers is on course for his best season ever ( in terms of CQ points ) and then I guess one can see why they did make that choice.

Great news. Saxo Bank can keep their good budget. A second (half-)russian team to challenge Katusha and Riis again can make a top team.
Don't know though if Riis and Oleg Tinkoff can work together tough as he didn't last long with Katusha and Tschmill

Oleg seems very passionated about cycling. He said that he looks forward to make Team Saxo Bank - Tinkoff Bank the best team in cycling from next year, as well prasing Denmark and Bjarne Riis as the best team manager - by far - in cycling.
I look forward to the partnership as a dane and hope that Tinkoff can contribute in cooperation with Saxo Bank. I hope they willl add some prominent riders for the roster to support Alberto Contador in the Tour de France next year. |
