Revealing the team jersey

Once again MrDemus trusted brilliant designer ANFreeman to design the jersey for his team, and as always he performed admirably.

i1215.photobucket.com/albums/cc512/ANFreeman/ekspla-1.png

What was said:

MrDemus: ANFreeman never lets anyone down. We got exactly what we wanted. Something that looks good and refreshingly new, and is eaasy to recognize. Thanks to him for making our beautiful jersey.

Hans Gieskes, CEO of Cision: The way he has combined the logos of the companies is great. It will be very easy to recognize next year.

Logan Hutchings, rider: It's certainly different. Frankly, I don't care how I look. I just wanna ride my bike, and win races.

Mindaugas Striska, rider: It's a very nice jersey. I like the simple colours, and the design a lot.

Transfer bonanza for Ekspla-Cision?

This article has been transferred from the 2012 thread due to its relevance, and edited as we now know more

Lithuanian sports website sport1.lt posted an article recently, with what seemed to be knowledge of which riders will continue at Ekspla-Cision now that they are confirmed for the Continental Tour, and who is to leave the team.

Staying
Mindaugas Striska
Algirdas Mockus
Vitauskas Kaupas
Mike Friedman
Logan Hutchings
Benoît Daeninck

Uncertain
Romas Sinicinas
Matynas Maniusis*
Alexander Porsev
Andrei Krasilnikau

Leaving
Mantas Mikuzis
Esteban Mardones
(Trinidad and Tobago) Marc Codrington

Only 6 riders seem to have a contract for the upcoming season, so that means that Ekspla-Cision might have to be very aggressive in the transfer season, to get a competitive squad together. The squads for the Continental Tour have to consist of between 15 and 20 riders, so that could potentially mean as much as 14 new signings for the team. That sounds like a bit much, so expect more relaxed news in the coming weeks.

*Has been renamed from Marius Bernatonis in the 2013 DB

Follow Ekspla-Cision!

The easy way to follow the team is of course to kep an eye on the media thread (you are here. No link needed.) Here we will post all news, big and small about the team and it's results.

You can also follow us on Twitter @EksplaMaximaMG. Here we will try to be active as well.

Also, a new fan project is on its way: The Ekspla-Nation (I think it is a quite clever pun). It will be a blog to be found at ekspla.blogspot.com in a short while. What the contents will be, you just have to see for yourself.

ANFreeman
Manager of airBaltic - Endura, A N Freeman, offers his congratulations to Ekspla on their obtaining of a CT license.

Furthermore, we would like to come to a sort of deal with Ekspla - Cision, whereby agreeing to not compete with one another whilst bidding for young Lithuanians. This would aid both teams, as prices for these riders would not escalate to unreasonable levels.

There may also be a caveat whereby the neo-pro riders are loaned to Ekspla on a yearly basis to gain experience.

We look forward to working with you in the transfer season.

Statement from Ekspla-Cision:

We too think a deal would be beneficial, if both teams gets treated fairly. There's no point in pumping up the prices for riders artificially.

Hello there,
I am a Scouting Assistant for DS Vyatcheslav Ekimov, who would heard that both, Porsev and Krasnilikau have hinted at a future with Russian Continental Outfit LukOil. Mr. Ekimov asked me to make contact with you in order to inquire if you had received notice of such rumor too...

MrDemus
We have not heard of any rumours regarding these riders, but it's not a surprise to us, that they are wanted by other teams.

However we will state, that there very well could be a place for these riders in the Ekspla-Cision setup next year. We will have to talk to riders, so that we together can decide their future.

Ekspla-Cision to look abroad?

Sport1.lt brings an interesting article this morning. The essence of the piece is, that due to the added pressure of the ManGame with several teams from Scandinavia and the baltic region, the team may have to look abroad for talented riders.

Former cyclist Arturas Kasputis had this to say: Several teams may be looking for the same riders as Ekspla-Cision, and that may mean some unreasonably high prices for some riders. This may force them to look at other countries to secure quality riders."

Team manager MrDemus had this to say: It is no secret that we look all over the world for good riders. Marc Codrington is a good example. I agree that some of the riders may be demanding way too high wages, but I don't think it will be as bad as suggested. But as I have stated before, I don't look at a riders passport, but his abilities on a bike."

All quiet on the eastern front

Ekspla-Cision have been terribly quiet as of late, but now they seem to have returned to the surface.

The transfer season has begun and Ekspla expect to be very active. It has been suggested that they may look to sign as many as 12 riders. But to make room, some riders have been released and only 8 riders remain from last year. They are:

Mindaugas Striska
Algirdas Mockus
Vitauskas Kaupas
Alexander Porsev
Andrei Krasilnikau
Benoît Daeninck
Logan Hutchings
Mike Friedman

Expect this multicultural bunch to be expanded in the near future.

Ekspla-Cision reveals team goals

Ekspla-Cision have revealed which goals they have set for themselves in the upcoming season. They are targetting the following:

Win Boras Runt
Win Vilnius GP
Stage Win Baltic Chain Tour
10 stage wins in a season
top 15 in the overall standings of the Europe Tour

MrDemus: The win goals are all important to our sponsors, as they are in our home areas. Also, we like these races very much. The other two goals we have chosen to show, that we are a team who will aim at every possible race. We want to have something to show in all terrains.

Ekspla-Cision expect to reveal signings today

Ekspla-Cision hope and expect to present their first couple of signings during this afternoon. According to MrDemus the riders coming in will be significant improvements to the current squad.

I knew we'd compete for him; I decided to back off, though. Seems you repaid the favour by laying off a few other targets of mine.

I hope he's good luck for you Smile

I did indeed back off a few. It would be pointless paying over the top wages for several riders, so I hope that we both will exit the transfer window satisfied Smile

Second signing revealed

After Evaldas Siskevicius was confirmed for the team, Ekspla-Cision could reveal a second signing.

Aleksei Saramotins is 31 years old and comes from Latvia. He is a rider who has his main strength in the sprint, but is also capable on the cobbles.
