It's the Mortirolo, Sean, not the Mortirola

Vino can keep a rider if he wants.
Lets hope that he will not be Froome helper
Ya he might be able to, he has the cash.
But after this Landa probably wont accept anything but a GC winner role on any team

Yeah but Kruiswijk did all the work on the front so no shock they let him take the points

Trofimov descending well, I'm guessing he's dropped Hesjedal?

Another bad tactical decision for him today, it's only go worse for him now.
there's nothing to do about tactics when you get outclimbed by amador, hesjedal and trofimov. he just doesn't have the legs.
astana could have used aru for landa (instead of the opposite) at the beginning of mortirolo, but the outcome would have been the same. |

With Valverde getting older that makes sense, Movistar have the $$$

Indeed, at 11%, the gains of getting paced are slim, if not nonexsistent. Sometimes even better just to pace yourself not to go in red which probably was what happened to Aru to some extend when trying to follow Landa
What a climber he is. 2011 on Lagunas de Neila as a 21 years old (?) and have been rather silent since.. now this.

Quintana will be there Tour leader and Valverde won't win a GT, Landa could have Giro leadership next year if he was at Movistar

Yup, Quintana is the only true GC-contender next year on Movistar, allthough they have a shitload of very decent GC-riders - including Amador, apparantly
Edit: And its obviously the only Spanish team in the WT which also counts. Also alot from Euskaltel which also helps in the recruiting, I would suspect

Ya but as we have seen in this race, thye dont have anyone in the contention for the giro win, so they do have Quintana but he is putting his eggs in the Tour De France basket.
So it would make sense to get Landa and put him forward as the Giro winner next year. but who knows we will see that the end of Tour De france. |
