That was prime time Phinney today, you love to see it. Also a fantastic race by Tao, announcing himself with a good GC to the team.
Thank you for the awesome reports!
Looking at the other performances I especially love what Mano did, stellar performance by him!

Not a whole lot to write home about here in Tasmania for ISA - Hexacta, and hence only minor points on the board. No repeat of the heroics from Supulveda and Dlamini on stages 2 + 3 in 2021 that gave us 2 in the top 10 GC to really kick off the season. Instead have to settle for Vakoc scraping into the top 20 GC as only half-decent return. Degenkolb was a bit wonky on stage 1, but had none of the usual sprint support crew in attendance - very few other outings where he doesn't have at least some assistance for the final few kms so hopefully this does not repeat too often.
Unsurprising victor, but congrats all the same to Phinney and his team on the victory, and thanks to cunego for the reports.

Always hard to beat Phinney. Considering that it wasn't the longest TT, I'm relatively satisfied with a 2nd place from Würtz. Brkic and APP a bit below our expectations, but alright, three top 20 is okay - at least we got our three guys very close together

Strong second stage by Lutsenko. Combined with 15th in GC, 2nd in KoM and 5th in Points he scored a decent amount of points here.
Congrats to Croatia and Phinney!

Not the race we wanted, but at least we managed to get a top10 out of it. Thanks for the reports, cunego and congrats, Croatia!

Thanks for reporting!
Old good Ion Izagirre still knows how to ride, 5th overall in first race after our comeback to PT is awesome.

Oh wow, Moser immediately quashes the idea he might be a tad overpaid by becoming the first individual rankings leader of the season! Unexpected results like that are exactly why it's fun to have a 2nd sprinter. #NewHolloway
Neat taking of intermediate points too, to also show off the Yellow Jersey, and set up that 2nd in points. Great to see later in the stage that Wirtgen and Valter complemented each other for a nice stage finish, and to set Valter up for an U25 podium.
2nd overall is an excellent outcome for Wirtgen, with 3rd in points. Backed up and bettered the result from last season, besting Tenorio this time - and closing the Phinney gap slightly.
Great set of reports too, lovely detail on the road, and especially the TT.

Good to see Toms Skujins on the podium during the second stage, that is quite hopeful for the rest of the (hilly) season.

Great start to the season by Mano. If Gidich hadn't been dropped in the hilly stage the race would've been perfect. Hope that was a one-off and not an indicator of what's to expect of him this season after being trained. |
