Darren Matthews showing all the good signs of strength going into the TT. He's in prime position to get himself neatly into the Top10GC, and excellent two-rider score. G i don't know, he's in that group who can't really TT. Hoping he can slot himself into the Top15 GC. But it's all eyes on Wolverine, and honsetly getting onto the podium at all for the youngster is a massive over-performance i'll be very happy with. Plus the U25 Jersey puts a real sweet finish on everything. Bring on an enthralling stage 4!

Well, that was a crazy sprint! Appo's race days were certainly wasted here, so from a race planning perspective that was pretty terrible planning by me. With the crosswinds, his flat stat must have just worn him down too much to contend. In that case I probably should have brought AKA instead, but I was worried he'd abandon on the cobble stages due to his terrible cobbles stat. Alas, you live and learn.
In any case, kvist getting 4th, Appo 8th, and VSB 10th is still a nice little chunk of points from this stage. It also shows that VSB is still in good form. Hopefully he carries that into tomorrow and can make up those last two seconds to take the GC! That would certainly be some redemption after I almost burned his contract up along with his house and loved ones... but a podium is good too I guess.

Good to see Lindeman back in the main group, he's on track for a minor GC classification and every point is welcome.

Saya has been doing quite well here, I have to say, outperforming even my expectations. Hopefully he can hold on to a Top 10 although I fear he will lose a lot of time.

Well, the random dice went away from us there. But still, Wolverine into 2nd as an unmaxed rider is a terrific result. And i'm happy it's Carlsberg who beat us, genuinely. Wolverine bagging good stuff there and the U25 by a big gap is cool, as is 3rd in the Points. Lest we forget the stage win that began it all!
Matthews went really well. 9th justifies the training spend, as does his good stage placings. Bit more investment and the Barbadian could be a good rider, certainly for CT level. Not so strong from G who couldn't get himself a time gap and he hated the TT. But even he did get something good in stage placings as well.
Cracking race. Really enjoyed it. Awesome for plenty of people!

Yay, a good ride from Rowe to secure seventh in the end! Unfortunately for us breakaways took away a potential top 5 (or even podium with bonuses, don't know), but that happens. Cool to see Schreurs just conceding one spot and CNC moving into the GC points!
Congrats to bbl and commiserations but still congrats to TMM who had a great race between GT, Owen and Matthews! Thanks for an entertaining set of reports tsmoha - I don't know why but "Oh nooo, that's four seconds lost to Vanspeybrouck!" stood out to me, seemed like exactly what a commentator would say as he realised the young surprise rider had just lost the GC on the final day
24/02/21 - kandesbunzler said “I don't drink famous people."
15/08/22 - SotD said "Your [jandal's] humour is overrated"
11/06/24 - knockout said "Winning is fine I guess. Truth be told this felt completely unimportant."

Excellent result there, that 6th place + point jersey puts us right back on track for the mediocre, anonymous season we were hoping for!
Congrats baseballlover, and don't worry about getting overly excited over something that isn't worth it. After all, you love baseball
Thanks for the reports Tsmoha, Hero of the PCT!
Changed my sig, this was getting absurd.

Kuboki winning would have made up for Kuroeda losing a Top 10, although 12th still isn't too bad.
Thanks for the reports tsmoha!

Unfortunately no shock result, but overall a very very good race. If you told me before the race Albert and Flaksis would finish third and fourth I would send to you to psychiatric evaluation. Marcos, Zepuntke and Lindeman all in the 10-20ies and the team classification. A large cobbles squad was a good call during transfers.
Thanks tsmoha for the reports, and congrats Carlsberg on the overall win. Sorry for Podium Ambition and Owen to lose on the final day but they had a great race as well. Good to see Matthews doing well.

Congrats BBL! Nice to seeing Vanspeybroeck finally living up to his stats. Very happy with our own race as well. Thanks for the reports, tsmoha!

Wow. I'm honestly dumbstruck. I've complained and complained about PCM all year. Today they gifted me one. We certainly didn't take home this GC win like I expected we could, but VSB at least showed some fight for once and made it count. This one's gonna last a long time.
I don't wanna celebrate too much after the crap I've pulled in the past few days. I'd like to thanks tsmoha most of all for amazing reporting of each stage. The reporting this year has been stellar all around, but these reports were really detailed. Keeping track of the VSB chase in stage 1 was something I really appreciate and obviously ended up being important later!
Congrats as well to TMM and Marcovdw on some awesome performances. Was a really fun finale, fighting it out.
Hopefully this is a turning point for Vanspeybroeck. Obviously he didn't make the difference on the cobbles, which is what he needs to do in classics - but perhaps he at least knows to take the initiative now.

Only just catching up after being busy the last few days.
Congrats Bbl! Solid win for the big man. Congrats to all the other stage and classification winners too.
Such a strong break they let go on the first stage and most of those guys hung around in the top GC spots. That’s a big mistake right there. Happy that Okba made it in though!
Terrific race from him to finish in 5th overall, absolutely mammoth effort. Maes with a few attack attempts here and there was nice to see, although he had seemingly lost leader privileges.
Thanks for the reports tsmoha!

A top 10 in GC and a stage win is a great result to come away with from a C1 race, hopefully this can kickstart our season.

Been away for a week, saw the reports but couldn't reply yet, apologies for being later.
Really weird to see Riesebeek topping our team, I guess the flat stat had an impact here? No clue. It's some depth points anyway, and that's all we could've hoped for.
On a more positive side, good to see we still know how to join breaks, even if it's just our loanee, Monk. In hindsight I'm sure he would've put a little more effort in stage 1 if he knew it could give him a top GC spot. But he's here to learn, so I don't mind
Thanks for reporting tsmoha! |
