Looks like Velits could do with some lessons on how to ride for GC whilst your teammate is in yellow from Ulissi! Congrats Eden

So Caruso and Zingle are absolute retards. Awesome. No GC points for us in this race.

Kinda disappointing stage. Bystrom probably bit under his level, but he shouldn't have been much higher though. The worst thing is that despite having a great depth in the stage, with several riders in the Top50, their GC is screwed by the f...ng split in the first stage, which also killed our chance in the Teams standings
Thanks for the great reports so far roturn!

Uh.. this isn't very good Seems like Lutsenko did have some power left, so I hope it was just a case of bad decisions.
Comeback time now hopefully |

An improvement from Yates there, headed in the right direction for the race. Can't wait until i can actually put money into his HL stat!

Thanks doodz! +4 or 5 day or something from AA there considering we had our entire team working on the front there. When his form goes back to normal in the coming stages, I can definitely see Lutsenko, McCarthy etc. catching and passing him in the GC.
Alas, overjoyed with the win! Surprised again by Ulissi being unable to sprint past him too.
Hope he can keep this up and secure a decent GC position.
Thanks for the report!

Not a tremendous stage for us by any means. JJ at least finished ahead of the peloton though. If this is him coming back down to earth after last year, I hope this is the ground. At least he's still in the mix.

Glad I missed this race with Kinoshita. Itami a little disapointing on stage 2, but the gaps/results on the first two hill stages, definitely make me happy with my decision to not bring Kinoshita here, with weaker riders outperforming the "Top" guys in some cases.

This was probably the first stage all season where we've performed above expectations - hope things continue!

Mmm. Looks like having two decent puncheurs in PCT stage races might not work too well, as Boily has been worse than anonymous thus far, sitting well outside even the top 50 after 3 stages. Was starting to worry that Betancourt was going to suffer a similar malaise until the finale of stage 3 where when he finally showed (and saved) face. Surprised to some extent that on stage 1 and 3 he was not listed among the favourites when similar (but imo 'worse' from a pure stats perspective) riders were; not that favourite listing is super-important.
One positive has been good sightings of JAC's NC jersey throughout the stage 2 sprint coverage, on his way to a solid 5th in the sprint which we were quite happy with .
Stages yet to come looking for Carlos to continue to compete in the puncheur stages, similar for JAC in the sprints, and would like Boily to at least make an appearance!

Really happy to see another win in this young season for romain vanderbiest. At least one of our sprinters in performing. Not expecting much on non flat stages, but really hoping for at least another stage win for him |

AKA much worse in this sprint, but alas points wise it matters much less with the break winning. I'd like to have done a little better but not a big deal.

Very pleased with Bester joining the break and giving us some bonus points. Also wonder what would've happened if Lutsenko were in the front group, it looked like he was close |

Well I can't say I necessarily saw that coming but that makes this race a lot better! After messing up the tactics on stage 3 it's great to see Caruso not only get the first stage win of the season but also move himself up to a position where he can fight for a decent GC position Exactly what was needed to get this race back on track. Bouhanni will just have to have his other chance in the final Sprint stage.

I don' think it was our job to chase, but we did lose stage points and a GC spot this way.

Really was hoping for better from the flat stages here with Itami. Stage 7 will need to be better.
