Same prologue time as Reis and Valls. I take it as good sign for Cataldo.

Thurakit!!!
That I'm so happy about a 5th place, shows what a crappy season we had.
Great to see him active, didn't think we would get a good stage result in those hilly stages. Let's see how long he can hold onto a top 10. Rodrigues in the first big group is also okay. |

Wow didn't expect to see such an active stage this early in the race. Good effort from Machado to bridge the gap to the front guys in time. Nepo and Nazaret sure looked fit today as well, it seems their are going to offer some aggression to this event. Congrats RBC for the victory. Nice bit of the season for you guys!

Encouraging stuff from Stake Laengen thinking of a top 20 overall. Hopefully we can start to join the breakaway fun as well now as it's established Stake Laengen won't be one of the top guys thinking of the GC.
Good to see Machado not screw up on the first hilly stage as well, as it would be kind of heartbreaking if Prio-Porto's gamble don't pay off.
Will be interesting to see if this first hilly stage is a sign for what's to expected here, then the race will be great to follow, but first a chance for Cavendish! |

Decent from Levarlet that, but he should have joined the attacks earlier.
Juul-Jensen a big letdown on this stage, to be honest.

That's a start for Boily, but nice see a few more guys not far behind! Machado seems to be at it here, which is good. Bennett though with a notable loss already.. Can't see him competing with those Boilys and Kangerts and Kwiateks that way.

Yevgeni not losing a lot of time on the hilly stage is encouraging, even though he had the leader's jersey advantage. If he can stay close to Machado past the mountainstage I guess we could get our first GC win ever, but let's not run ahead shall we? Still a long race, with plenty of opportunities and threats.
Also, good to see the AI not fuck up making Prevar my leader on this stage. Hope the AI will continue to be nice, not having Yevgeni work for Ulanowski at some point...

WOAH! what a performance for Boily to keep his great season on track obviously having a strong hilly team here has helped as they've kept the pack together most of the day but his attack and finish was very impressive and this could be a large points haul depending on how long he can keep the jersey |

Hategeka (78 Hill), Bennett (78mo/76hill), Augustyn (77mo/75hill), Rabie (75hill), and you're telling me we couldn't get a better result?
What the fuck? So many times we've been screwed by the AI.

Not a great stage for Kwiatkowski, but I still don't have any doubts he can challenge for the podium here. Hopefully he can utilise his ability on the hills better on the other hilly stages. |

Appreciated the screen on the prologue, Atlantius. Great effort by Iglinskiy on stage 2, didn't expect him to go so well for a while, when I saw a Bonsucro rider in that group attacking I thought it had to be Roy.... silly me. It's not as if he was one of the stage favourites. |

A very promising start for AMEX-Navigon. Oliver Le Gac jumps out immediately and charges to the King of the Mountains lead. Ian Boswell finished 11th which settles him into 13th place in the GC at +1:21.
Boswell will need to stay on this pace to stay near the top of the GC and the Young Rider competition.
The killer stages for AMEX will be at the tours end with the tough Mountain stage and the longer ITT.
We need to bank more time and more KOM points.

Keep staying in Kwiats slipstream worked once before... good way to get into the race by Dario Cataldo. As long a he can stay with the better punchers he'll may be in a position to attack in the mountain stage.
Was already an exciting stage, Boily turns into a serious contender to Machado if he keeps collecting seconds in the hilly stages.

48 | Simon Geschke | Evonik - ELKO | s.t. |
So if PCM realizes that Geschke should be one of the favourites why is he not trying something?
Risa is the team of the moment.

So another good stage and now after 3 stages we are
1st GC
2nd in Points
3rd in KOM
1st in U25
1st in Team
The next stage is a big one though as it looks suited to Machado but if Boily performs like he did on stage 2 we could be in for a treat |
