I'm a bit disappointed by the 38th place of Kulhavy But the fight in front of the race shows who to follow this season on hilly classics

Oooh yeah! Our first top 10, lovely! Especially with that field. Very happy
Lovely report, tsmoha!! Much appreciated.
A question to those with some experience: my goal was to win this thing and I'm 9th, is this a very bad thing? |

Yep. It will mean you'll earn almost no money for next year from that goal.
Mind you it isn't exactly a disaster.

Good try from Vastaranta but as expected the finish was a bit too hard for him.
Thanks for a good report!

Oh dammit, what happened to Passalacqua?
In the front group with 10kms to go, finishes with a 8 minutes gap, haha.
Well I'd guess that the mountain ratio was higher than expected then. Mendes is terrific already, hope he won't win every race like that. Nice top ten from Molard though, who somehow saved the day, considering that I set it as a winning goal...
Very nice report, tsmoha!

A very decent race that one and some interesting AI movements too.
The break was comfortably caught which is a major plus and the favourites had a real dust up which is also nice.
Mendes is the punchaer with the top OVL rating (and of course HILL rating) in CT so a bit of a victory for that new model there and also very interesting that Lejman was nowhere who is really a poor mans Mendes.
Can I count Duresek as a Red Bull alumni ( I bought him in and then transferred him out in one season) could be a really decent rider that.
Nice to see Rabon go well also - been an up and down MGer that gu, he and Vastaranta should have good season on this evidence.
Pleased also to see the French teams In and Out and Sudexo in the action.

Mendes won his first classic already
Correct me if I'm wrong, but I don't think he won any classic last season.
@Ian
Well, it means you will have less money next year, but don't worry, very few managers reach all their goals(some don't even reach any )

Looking at the startlist Durasek is the logic AI leader and looking at Lejman 's positioning, he was degraded to helper. This is not the first time I've seen the PCM14 AI favour the rider with the highest overall over the best guy in the terrain.
Though the MO Stat might have been in effect this race.

A great result from Acevedo, got the season off to a very promising start. A goal complete and a podium in the first race!
Nice to see Affonso in the break as well, showing off his lovely Brazilian NC.

Very well done by Mendes, a true show of strength, which is even more impressive considering the talk about the mountain stat having an effect. Congratulations!
And thanks for the report, tsmoha. I was hoping for Vastaranta, but he unfortunately wasn't strong enough to follow Rabon in their bid for glory with 7 kilometers to go. |

Great report Tsmoha
The Minions were disappointing though, especially Martinez.

Wow mendes! Impressing win here! Also very strong of Rabon to hold on after going so "early" (especially considered to Vastaranta Who dissapointed a little)

In a way I'm glad I didn't bring Zeits, it means I can keep my hope alive that he will be better than Mendes, despite the fact that it won't be true.

Nice to see our former boy Rabon still riding strong at least on CT level.

Yay, won a bet and saw a former rider take a victory. Congrats on that successful start Severstal

Thanks guys for all the nice words!
I'm very delighted Mendes could live up to the expectations and win the first race outright.
Really looking forward to the rest of the season now.
(Goal comfortably achieved).

Very nice report and racing! Didn't expect anything different at all - Except I had Rabon in front of Mendes. Regardless, not a bad way to start the season and now the benchmark has been set!

Very nice opener for Alpina - Avianca, getting the Brazilian champ in the break and Acevedo finishing like a rocket (that upgrade could turn out to be a wise move).
Lejman not finishing too well could be a sign that one dimensional riders will struggle this season. |

This race will have to go down as one to forget for Eddie Stobart with our best rider finishing in 60th place |
