Iirc, SN already said, that this is something likely to happen next year

Great stuff again from the Euskaltel Fernandez protection squad. All 7 finishing in the top 30 on the stage as well as 10th and 11th. The team and Fernandez looking very strong at the moment.

Another win! I said coming into the race I would be happy with a win but two completely exceeds my expectations. Even better this time Forero did it without much team help showing he can position himself well on his own - if only he had been showing this sort of skill earlier on in the season!

Down to 10th place is the plan.
Still no sign of any threat to the Stage 1 breakaway duo, despite a harder stage today.

Suspenseful 4th stage with a solid sprint by Fonseca.
Outstanding final punch by Forero, he already looked beaten.

A comfortable 5th stage for the team. Letting the breakaway have a few seconds won't hurt I hope. Just the 1 stage remaining!

And we must thank you for doing such a brilliant job protecting Zamri's 2nd place in the process

I think it is safe to say this race (atleast this route) will be one of the first races scrapped for next seasons calendar..... Pretty damn nauseating for me.
tsmoha - How did you get through this one? If I was reporting it I would've had a sick bucket at hand! |

Last year's Tour de Korea was worse, I almost had the only finisher on stage 2

We need another podium for another significant change in our harvest. Really wanna see another showdown of the best Sprinters... with the GC already lost to a breakaway.

A little disappointing that we lost the podium and the points jersey on the final stage but nevertheless overall a great race for the team with two stage wins and 4th place overall - by far and away our most successful race of the season so far!
Big thanks (again!) to tsmoha for the reports, and of course Alak for finishing it off

Thanks for that report, Alak! Some nice drama there on the final 3km.
Guillen with his first win, rather unexpected, as he wasn't much of a factor the past stages. Maybe deserved though, as he was the only one sprinting on first day and going for intermediates on second day. Gratz, LLS and sammy, as well as Stromeon for two wins.

Nice to see Guillen winning.
And nice to see that our friends at Alpina did great! Congrat's to them.
Great reports tsmoha, and of course, Alak too. Thanks. |

Our last stop in Africa this season ends pretty much with the anticipated result.
Gratz to Euskaltel for the surprising victory!
And thanks tsmoha and Alakagom for the entertaining reports!

6th place in GC in the end. Vingerling(and leadouts) did well, but a win would've completed it all.

Thank you tsmoha and Alak for the reports. Ahmad Zamri really over performed for us here as we were never expecting much out of this race.
I'm surprised Alak thinks we might get into the promotion hunt as I thought we were already over performing as of the last update, that said if we keep getting results like this then maybe the team can surprise me at the end of the season.

Well you gotta factor the PCT disbanding teams into the promotion fight. It's too early to tell and point out, but it (unfortunately) will be around 3-6 teams for sure at this rate. With that in mind I personally I could see 10 CT teams promoting. And iirc correctly your team was only 30 points behind that 10th spot which certainly gives you very decent chance of promotion.
