Avenir? I think I made a calculation where it was possible to get him to 3.0 without C2, but it might be with a wrong avg?

I made both Grosu and Zmorka lvl1 to lvl3 in one season without single C2 race ,so it was indeed possible easily. Or does band system change that? I did not plan a single minute this year so far...

Race days ;-) Herklotz got a higher avg so he got less race days

I got multiple riders to lvl3 in 2012 as well.
That doesn't change the fact that iirc Herklotz only has 69 race days, Grosu and Zmorka probably had 80+, and that's what a talent needs. 40 C1, 40 HC.
69 bring him to 2.72 with 40 C1 and 29 HC. No way to get lvl3 with wildcards. Needs 25 or so C2 days.
Edit: Screw you heine, not in my HQ! You already have Zabel in your team!

You are both right of course, i completely forgot on the race days factor. You (or whoever hets him) have to pay for him being so overpowered.

Thomas Vedel Kvist unfortunately just became a lot less interesting for us this season looking at that wage, however Fabio Felline, Mario Vogt and Jocelyn Bar would be interesting even on a yearly loan basis.
Most interesting are, however - still, Maxime Daniel and Arnaud Demare.

Hubert Schwab might be a possible transfer target for Team Vontobel.
His experience can be more than helpful in our first season. With your consent we'll verify if Hubert's return to his home country is affordable.

Kvist dropping a bit in wage if I'm not mistaking...
He is currently at my reduced short-list, but a lot will depend on how the wages for key FA's end up. I would appreciate a heads-up if you're getting close to selling him though

@Avin: Well, how does a C2 team of Bongiorno, Demare, Daniel, Herklotz, Minard, Sterobo and Sütterlin sound? 74mo, 73hil/75sp, 74cob, 73mo, 76sp, 74tt, 75tt.
I doubt that will cost me a lot of points compared to what they could achieve in 25 C1 race days.
@SotD: As Atlantius pointed out, this is 25k and 27k respectively less than in the last two seasons, and that while winning a stage and finishing high in GC in Qatar, so you shouldn't have expected much less.
You turn out to like the riders I like the most as well, so negotiations will be hard. Nevertheless, good offers can change minds
@Margh: Hubert is a great domestique for his wage, but slowly getting old, so we would love to see him lead a CT team at the end of his career.
@Atlantius: We'll certainly talk when the time is right, and I suspect it is always right with Kvist
With Minard on minimum wage and our desire to strenghten that part of our team with another cheaper rider, he's most definitely going.

If you look through my team I have quite a similar mass of talents, although I balanced my team to avoid relegation over having the top talents from all ranks

It would be a dream come true if this deal becomes reality. There is a good chance that Hubert Schwab is the inspiring example for the upcoming young squad and figurehead for team and sponsors we are looking for.

First update in quite a while...
The lack of time recently means no thorough team presentation as my focus lies on reporting now, but I guess most people are pretty familiar with my team nevertheless. Add Herklotz, Ciolek and a bunch of new talents, subtract last year's leaders, there you go.
Of course we won't stay anonymous, so the full team roster including loaned out riders can be found on page 1 now. (yay for finally having a real German focus!)
Any comments on our roster composition for this season are still very appreciated though.
Updated on page 1 as well (and probably slightly more interesting for you as it's actual news) is our calendar for 2014.
Why not just share it with everyone here as well to at least give this post some content?
note: DUC already features the preview and report links I intend to update throughout the season to make it easier to follow and re-view our racing. Obviously those links still lead to 2013's threads, it's only for layout purposes now.

You could already guess most of our leader's schedules by analyzing that calendar, but since none of you probably did that, here you go!
Gerald Ciolek
| | Age: | 28 | | | | | Wage: | €130.000 | | | | | Strongest stat: | Sprint (83) | | | | | Weakest stat: | Mountain (52) | | | | | Pressure: | High | | |
Dominik Nerz
| | Age: | 25 | | | | | Wage: | €150.000 | | | | | Strongest stat: | Mountain (78) | | | | | Weakest stat: | Cobbles (56) | | | | | Pressure: | Medium | | |
Wilco Kelderman
| | Age: | 23 | | | | | Wage: | €125.000 | | | | | Strongest stat: | Stamina (78) | | | | | Weakest stat: | Cobbles (62) | | | | | Pressure: | Low | | |

Late news, but important ones nevertheless:
The team was granted a wildcard for the only German stage race in the ProTour calendar, Deutschland Tour.
While it is less impressive considering we already raced it as a fully involved PT team last season, we're happy to have received this opportunity, especially as we will be able to field a far more German-focused team than last season.
Additionally, the future of German stage racing, Silvio Herklotz, will make his debut on the big stage here.
As mentioned above, we were able to send our two German leaders to the race in Dominik Nerz and Gerald Ciolek.
We sadly couldn't provide Gerald with a perfect, full leadout train as race clashes and overall race days somewhat limited our pool of available riders, but Jérome Giaux will try to bring him into a perfect position to possibly give Team Puma - SAP a stage win.
Nerz has the support of our German climbers Johannes Heider and Silvio Herklotz in an attempt to improve on Jurgen Van den Broeck's 12th place in the General Classification last season.
For xp gain purposes and attending as a general domestique is Jo Kogstad Ringheim, while Dylan van Baarle and Jasha Sütterlin were specifically chosen to save us from a TTT disaster.

Good luck in your home country on that wildacrd race, Metinvest has nice memories from there, as it was one of our wildcards last year and Popovych won a stage there!
But there is still very long time to go before the race

DU Classic can be a real lottery and even the best can miss the sprint completely, so i hope for you this will not be the case for Gerald, as i hate to see goals destroyed like that. Good luck.

Thanks in hindsight, seems like it helped!
DUC wasn't an easy choice, but I wanted Top 5 HC goals for sprinters as those are the best value imo and the only type of races I knew I would have a competitive leader, and there were only those 4 races plus Interlagos/Dutch Food Valley to choose from.
