Betancur is 149th place overall almost 2 and half hours behind, and he is a climber and could not stop attacking this year in Giro. Anyone knows what happened to him?
1. Two GC's in one year for such a young rider.
2. It was stated before Vuelta started that he is here to prepare for WC and going for stage wins, not GC if I recall right.

Spilak realised one week races are much better suited to him than a GT. And rightly so in his case looking at his success this year.
Considering the fact that there isn't much one week races that would suit him in the end of season I would have loved to see him test himself in Vuelta. I think he has grown a lot as a cyclist this year.

And he had been injured or ill before the start of the race, iirc.
EDIT: Didn't see Pelli's answer in the previous page.

He has already raced a lot this season so it's smart to rest a bit I think. Especially because he has been squeezed out before. Both after his PT debut in 2008 and his first breakthrough in 2010.

He is too fat, his coach said that he weights 6 kg too much. Weight is almost everything in GC. |

Agreed. Especially since it means we'll miss most of (if not all) Balès.

It's considerably warmer actually, but yeah, same in terms of rain and lightning.

As always. Do you remember Contador's Vuelta winning attack last year? Yeah, me neither, because it wasn't even recorded by TV cameras.

So the dreams of Stybar of doing a top 10 in GC are over. I wonder what was he thinking. |
